Chapter 471

Evelyn's eyes widened in shock.

Adrian had just stolen the children's milk.

He tilted his head back and drank it in one gulp, his Adam's apple bobbing as the rich aroma filled the air.

"Interesting flavor," he murmured, licking his lips with obvious satisfaction.

Evelyn's jaw dropped.

"You..." Her voice trembled. "You liked it?"

Adrian arched a brow. "Is there a problem?"

She swallowed hard.

That was breast milk!

She had carefully curated her diet to ensure the milk was nutrient-rich, naturally sweet.

Sophia nursed for hours every night, and Ethan, though less demanding, still relied on it.

"You... can drink it," she managed, her expression conflicted.

Adrian shook the empty cup. "Got more?"

Evelyn took two steps back.

She did, but she'd have to express it fresh.

"Selfish," he scoffed.

She was too furious to speak.

She pumped diligently every day just to keep up with the twins' needs.

Those little connoisseurs refused formula outright—only her milk would do.

Gabrielle had been stuffing her with supplements, resulting in an oversupply even the twins couldn't finish.

"Give that back!" She lunged for the cup.

Adrian dodged effortlessly, eyeing the last few drops.

"We used to share glasses," he teased, his smile suggestive.

Evelyn's temper flared.

No wonder Sophia kept trying to lift her shirt!

"Adrian!" She gritted her teeth. "That was then. This is now!"

She drew a sharp breath.

"We're nothing to each other anymore. Stay out of my life!"

With that, she turned on her heel and left.

Once, he had been her only light.

Then, at her happiest moment, he had snuffed it out himself.

Adrian watched her retreating figure, his gaze unreadable.

"Strangers?" He chuckled darkly. "Then let's get acquainted again."

Evelyn stormed back into the private dining room and slammed the bottle onto the table.

"What happened?" Scarlett startled.

"Ran into Adrian." Evelyn seethed. "He drank all the milk I pumped!"

Scarlett spat out her water.

"He drank breast milk?!" Her voice hit an octave higher. "He knew what it was, right?"

Evelyn massaged her temples. "He said it tasted good."

Scarlett's face went blank with disbelief.
