Chapter 250
Adrian Valentine's eyes glinted with amusement as his slender fingers tapped lightly on the desk. "I'll take you somewhere tonight to make up for all your wild thoughts lately."
Isabella Langley's eyes brightened, her lips curling into an unconscious smile.
"You always spoil me, Adrian." She pouted, clinging to his arm.
Adrian smoothly withdrew his hand, a cryptic smile playing on his lips. "Didn’t you want to see a show? Follow me."
Isabella stared at her empty arm, a flicker of confusion crossing her face before excitement took over.
When they arrived at Scarlett Orlando's floor, they collided with Cassandra Valentine storming out of the elevator.
Cassandra's gaze immediately locked onto Evelyn Roland and Julian Roscente standing at the end of the hallway.
"Isabella!" she shrieked. "Are you here to seduce Julian again?"
Julian, who had been quietly discussing antique authentication details with Evelyn, frowned deeply.
Cassandra charged forward, raising her hand to slap Evelyn.
Julian seized her wrist, his voice icy. "Cassandra, haven’t you caused enough trouble?"
Her eyes instantly welled up. "Julian, we were about to get engaged! Why are you still entangled with this woman?"
She glared at Evelyn’s stunningly beautiful face.
"Uncle Roscente and my mother have already agreed to the marriage alliance. The announcement is tomorrow." Cassandra raised her voice. "Evelyn, have you no shame?"
As soon as the words left her mouth, a swarm of reporters suddenly emerged from around the corner, cameras trained on the trio.
Evelyn’s gaze sharpened—she instantly understood Cassandra’s scheme.
Julian’s expression darkened dangerously. "Who approved this? My marriage is my own decision!"
Tears streamed down Cassandra’s face. "Julian, how could you do this to me?"
She turned to Evelyn and abruptly dropped to her knees. "Evelyn, you have no family, no ties. But I have my reputation to uphold. Please, let go of my fiancé!"
The reporters’ cameras flashed in unison.
