Chapter 353
"Julian..."
"Adrian, this incident is most likely connected to the Langleys. You're Isabella's fiancé. Only you and she knew about Evelyn delivering medicine to me. The fact that it was tampered with—I can't think of anyone else who could be responsible."
Julian's words left no room for misinterpretation.
Adrian's dark eyes bore into him, flickering with disbelief.
After years of brotherhood, was Julian really suspecting him?
Rage simmered in Adrian's gaze.
"Get some rest." He turned sharply, only to meet Evelyn's icy stare.
Their eyes locked for a tense moment before Adrian strode out of the hospital room.
Evelyn didn’t spare him another glance. The moment he left, Zachary entered to check the surveillance bug and immediately began tracking the signal.
Within five minutes, the location pinged a nearby office building.
Evelyn typed instructions into her phone, signaling Zachary to pinpoint the exact spot.
Soon, the coordinates for Room 1105 flashed on the screen.
After murmuring a few words to Victor, Evelyn left with Sebastian, heading straight for the target location.
Inside the car, Sebastian studied the towering glass façade. "Which floor, Evelyn?"
Recognizing the building as part of the Valentine Group's holdings, she answered coldly, "Eleventh."
Just as Sebastian moved to exit, his phone rang. His expression darkened at the caller ID.
"Hello?"
"Keep an eye on her. Don’t let her do anything reckless. I can’t break away right now."
Evelyn pressed a hand over his. "Go. I can handle this."
She knew how important that call was.
Sebastian hesitated, then relented. "I’ll have Zachary meet you here."
Evelyn forced a smile. "Fine."
She didn’t argue—just to ease his mind.
Suddenly, Sebastian pulled her into a tight embrace. "Wait for me, Evelyn."
The words sent a jolt through her, echoing Alexander’s last words to her before he was gone.
Panicked, she shoved the car door open and bolted toward the building.
From a distance, Adrian watched the scene unfold, his grip on the steering wheel turning his knuckles white.
A storm raged in his dark eyes.
Only when Sebastian’s car drove off did Adrian’s breathing steady. His gaze followed Evelyn as she disappeared into the lobby.
Frowning, he pulled up the security feed and saw her heading straight for the eleventh floor.
He sped into the underground garage, tracking her real-time location while calculating her motives.
Evelyn stood outside Room 1105—the signal strongest here.
This was Adrian’s private office.
