Chapter 298

Adrian's knuckles turned white as he clenched his fists. "Evelyn, explain yourself!"

Evelyn paused mid-step without turning. "The truth is right in front of you, yet you choose to ignore it."

"Evelyn!" Adrian's voice simmered with restrained fury. "This isn't the time for games."

She spun around, her gaze glacial. "Games? Doesn't Mr. Roscente have all the evidence he needs?"

Julian Roscente's expression flickered. "Ms. Roland, I only want to uncover the truth—"

"Uncover?" Evelyn cut him off with a bitter laugh. "You won't believe what's right before your eyes. What's left to uncover?"

As she pushed the door open, her pupils contracted.

Sebastian Orlando leaned against the wall, his white coat accentuating his refined features. "Long day in the pharmacy?"

"Sebastian?" Her frosty demeanor melted instantly. "What are you—"

"Just passing by to pick you up." He took the medicine case from her hands effortlessly. "Dinner with me tonight?"

The corners of her eyes crinkled. "Sure. I can give you the new prescription I prepared."

He ruffled her hair. "Wait for me in the car."

The moment the elevator doors closed, his smile vanished.

The atmosphere in the hospital room turned suffocating.

Adrian's stare burned into him. "Quite the performance, Dr. Orlando."

Sebastian adjusted his cuffs leisurely. "Still not as impressive as a CEO harassing another man's fiancée."

"You—"

"Mr. Roscente." Sebastian turned to Julian, a surgical blade glinting between his fingers. "If I hear you slander my fiancée again..." His voice dropped to a lethal whisper. "I won't hesitate to settle this professionally."

Adrian shot to his feet. "Fiancée?"

"Engagement next month." Sebastian's lips curled as he turned away. "Do come to the wedding."

The door slammed shut with a force that made Julian flinch.

He suddenly grabbed his coat. "I need to find Vincent Sr."

Adrian frowned. "What does Victor's father have to do with this?"

Julian's steps were frantic. "That car accident years ago... I have to verify it again."
