Chapter 200

Vincent Ashcroft stood before the villa's entrance when his phone screen suddenly lit up.

He glanced down, brows furrowing slightly.

This anonymous message was suspiciously timed.

Could the proposed solution in the text actually save the Ashcroft family?

His gaze lingered on the tightly shut door before he finally turned away.

Sacrificing some country girl meant nothing for the sake of his family.

Adrian Valentine had already discarded her anyway.

Vincent didn't realize this decision would condemn him to eternal ruin.

......

Sebastian Orlando escorted Evelyn Roland home, taking the opportunity to visit the children.

The moment he saw them, a flicker of pain crossed his eyes.

Thankfully, they resembled their mother more.

"Tristan, Felicia, this is Uncle Sebastian," Evelyn introduced gently.

Sebastian suddenly spoke up. "Call me Dad instead. Evelyn, let me be their father."

"What?" She froze.

His eyes crinkled with amusement. "As their godfather, I mean."

Evelyn nodded in agreement. The children did need paternal affection.

Yet something about his smile felt eerily familiar.

Sebastian bent down to scoop up Felicia.

"Come to Daddy, sweetheart."

Felicia immediately grabbed his ear.

"Little troublemaker. Don't you like Daddy?"

He gently squeezed her tiny hand, heart melting.

These were Evelyn's children.

Evelyn laughed while holding her son. "She's copying her brother. He always tugs on Great-grandfather's ears too."

Sebastian affectionately pinched Felicia's cheek. "Daddy loves his mischievous girl."

Felicia suddenly leaned in, planting a sloppy kiss on his face.

Evelyn chuckled. "Look how much your goddaughter adores you."

Shaking his head in mock exasperation, Sebastian said, "Let's go. I'll join you for dinner."

At the dining table, Victoria Laurent had prepared grilled meat and chicken porridge.

After the children were taken away, Sebastian asked softly, "Have your wounds healed completely?"

"Long ago." Evelyn kept her eyes on her porridge.

His gaze turned tender. "Don't take such risks again."

She'd been too reckless with herself these past years.

"I know. Now eat." Her voice was barely audible.

Sebastian placed a piece of grilled meat on her plate. "Come shopping with me tomorrow? We'll get things for the children."
