Chapter 402
Margaret Valentine staggered backward, her fingers trembling.
Her carefully woven lies had been mercilessly exposed in this moment.
"Adrian, all these years I've worked tirelessly to raise you and your sister..." Her voice shook. "What's wrong with finding companionship?"
"So you chose Vincent Langley?" Adrian's gaze was sharp as a blade. "And leaked my father's whereabouts?"
His fists clenched.
He had thought Vincent was the sole enemy—but there was a deeper conspiracy behind it all.
Margaret's face turned deathly pale. "Who's been feeding you these lies? I'm your mother!"
"Mother?" A cold laugh echoed from the shadows. "A mother who murdered her own husband?"
Margaret screamed uncontrollably. "Show yourself!"
Vincent's eyes darkened with malice. "Hiding like a coward? If you have proof, present it!"
"You destroyed the evidence long ago," the voice mocked. "But whether Adrian believes it—that's up to him."
The sea wind howled.
Adrian stared at Vincent. "You expect me to trust a murderer?"
"Bravo!" The mysterious figure suddenly laughed. "Adrian, here's a gift for you!"
The ceiling shattered with a deafening crash.
Two ropes slowly descended.
Evelyn Roland and Isabella Langley hung in midair, bound and gagged.
Adrian's pupils constricted violently.
A torrent of ice-cold water poured down.
Evelyn jolted awake.
Her wet hair clung to her face as she blinked in confusion.
Beneath her feet, the ocean waves churned violently.
"Isabella?" She turned to the woman bound beside her. "What's happening?"
