Chapter 74
Cassandra Valentine strode into the banquet hall in her stilettos, fingertips dancing across her phone screen.
"Isabella, did you really think Adrian saw you as some innocent angel?" Her crimson lips curled. "Turns out you're a venomous snake with fangs."
The crisp chime of a successful upload echoed through the air.
Isabella Langley's face drained of color. Her fingers clenched the fabric of her gown, nails digging into her palms.
"Refusing to help someone in need, causing secondary harm, then accusing the patient of drunkenness." Cassandra waved her phone. "Adrian's taste in women keeps getting more... interesting."
The chandelier's glare made Isabella dizzy.
Her new drama was set to begin filming next week. Millions of followers awaited her updates. A scandal now would be disastrous—
"Father!" She frantically grabbed Vincent Langley's arm.
Vincent narrowed his eyes. "Miss Valentine, family matters shouldn't be aired in public."
Cassandra flicked her curled hair, the diamond clip glinting coldly.
"Family?" She laughed. "Miss Langley hasn't even stepped through the Valentine family gates yet."
Margaret Valentine suddenly rushed forward and delivered a stinging slap.
The sharp crack silenced the entire hall.
"Delete that video!" Margaret demanded.
Cassandra licked her lips, smiling brighter. "Auntie, instead of protecting her, perhaps you should think about how to explain this to the press?"
As she turned, a shadow at the staircase caught her eye. She froze mid-step.
Evelyn Roland leaned against the banister, twirling a champagne flute between her fingers.
