Chapter 463
Cassandra Valentine trembled as she was backed into a corner.
Isabella Langley stood before her, eyes glacial with menace.
"The Valentines have abandoned you." Isabella's lips curled into a cruel smirk. "Even your brothers won't lift a finger."
Cassandra bit her lip, hatred burning in her gaze. "You'll pay for this, Isabella!"
Isabella threw her head back with a shrill, piercing laugh.
Nearby, Evelyn Roland watched in horror. The woman was utterly unhinged.
The laughter stopped abruptly.
Isabella loomed over the shivering Cassandra. "Pathetic. You obeyed my every command like a trained dog."
"That's how I seized the Ashcroft fortune." Pride flashed in her eyes. "Julian Roscente was even more gullible—handed over half his empire."
She leaned closer, whispering, "Those counterfeit antiques? All my doing."
"Christian Lefèvre was the most amusing." Her voice dripped with scorn. "One mention of Adrian Valentine, and he collapsed in rage."
"Worthless trash." Her face twisted with malice. "Just like you. Time to disappear."
Cassandra recoiled. "Please... tell me who my mother is!"
"Never!" Isabella snarled. "Die with that regret!"
A sharp slap cracked across Cassandra's face.
"I despise your pretty face." Isabella's teeth clenched. "How dare you outshine me?"
She turned to the guards. "This is our territory. Have your fun."
Cassandra's hope shattered as Isabella strode away.
She tried to flee, but a guard yanked her back.
"Easy there, sweetheart." His leer raked over her.
Another guard licked his lips. "I'll go first. Stand watch outside."
"Please..." Her voice broke.
The sickening rip of torn fabric echoed through the empty warehouse.
