Chapter 186

Evelyn's eyes widened as she stared at Julian. "You want to pursue me?"

Julian scratched his head, his ears turning slightly pink. "Evelyn, could you give me a chance?"

A sudden chill crept up his back before he finished speaking.

Adrian had appeared behind him without warning.

Isabella and Vincent followed them into the elevator.

Evelyn's voice was icy. "Sorry, I have a blind date to attend."

"A blind date?" Julian's expression froze. "Then... can I schedule one with you tomorrow?"

"Not necessary. I wouldn't dare presume." Her tone remained frosty.

Everyone connected to Adrian had once looked down on her.

Her gaze swept past Isabella, recalling what she'd witnessed downstairs that morning.

That receptionist turned out to be Isabella's pawn.

Isabella feigned concern. "Evelyn, who are you meeting? Do your parents know?"

Evelyn smirked. "What do they have to do with me?"

"But—"

"But what?" Evelyn cut her off. "He took me in for one day before sending me away. I repaid him with a diamond map worth hundreds of millions. Isn't that enough?"

"If not for the mix-up, I would've been their cherished princess too. How dare you find joy in my suffering?"

The elevator doors opened. Evelyn strode out without looking back.

Silence filled the elevator.

Julian laughed bitterly. "So our careless words were just rubbing salt in her wounds."

Shaking his head, he exited the elevator with long strides.

His family's business had been struggling lately. Potential partners refused meetings upon hearing his playboy reputation.

Now he finally understood how Evelyn felt.

Vincent scoffed. "Julian's changed."

Adrian remained expressionless. "Let's go."

Isabella discreetly texted Cassandra.

By coincidence, Adrian's private room was next to Evelyn's.

As Evelyn approached her door, Sebastian stepped out to greet her.

Dressed in white, he exuded warmth and refinement.

His delicate features softened with a spring-like smile.

"Sebastian!" Evelyn's eyes curved with joy.

He studied her carefully. "Evelyn, you've grown even more beautiful in five years."

"How have you been abroad?" Her tone brightened.

"Quite well. Come in—I ordered your favorite dishes."

Sebastian naturally took her hand, oblivious to Adrian's group nearby.

Julian stood frozen, his face stricken. "She really came for a blind date!"
