Chapter 289
"Stop." Adrian Valentine's icy voice echoed through the hospital room.
Evelyn Roland and Sebastian Orlando turned simultaneously.
Adrian's sharp gaze pierced Sebastian. "You're the one who intercepted those three projects last month."
A provocative smile curled Sebastian's lips. "Guilty as charged. Bring it on if you want revenge."
Evelyn stared at him in shock.
Margaret Valentine's face darkened as she pointed at Evelyn. "You vile wretch! How dare you collude with outsiders to sabotage the Valentines? Make him return those projects immediately, or you'll regret it!"
Isabella Langley chimed in, feigning concern. "Evelyn, even after divorcing Adrian, how could you be so cruel?"
"Shut it." Sebastian's glare turned lethal. "Evelyn had nothing to do with this. Unlike you, whose specialty is framing others."
Isabella trembled with rage.
"Let's go." Sebastian took Evelyn's hand.
She walked away without looking back.
Adrian's eyes darkened as he watched their intertwined fingers.
"Adrian, are you badly hurt?" Isabella hovered by his bedside, a flicker of resentment in her eyes. He'd taken a knife for Evelyn.
"Get out." His tone was glacial.
Isabella shot a resentful glance at Julian Roscente in the adjacent bed. The man was still alive.
"Darling, shouldn't you be resting for tomorrow's shoot?" Margaret cooed at Isabella.
Adrian narrowed his eyes. His mother treated Isabella with more affection than her own daughter.
Remembering Isabella's connection to Vincent Langley, a chill crept into his bones.
