Chapter 69

Theodore Lowell frowned, his sharp gaze fixed on Isabella Langley.

A suspicion arose in his mind—how could biological sisters be so estranged that one wouldn't even know the other's address?

These past few days, he'd been preoccupied with caring for his sick daughter, feeling grateful to everyone who'd helped her.

Isabella claimed to have saved Natalie too, and he'd chosen to believe her.

Isabella's eyes darted nervously, her fingers twisting together unconsciously.

She took a deep breath, forcing composure as she met Theodore's stare. "Mr. Lowell, why would I lie about this? My sister left in a hurry after the banquet..."

"Then you must at least have her family's contact information?" Theodore pressed urgently. "Natalie's condition is critical. She needs your sister's specialized medication."

Isabella faltered.

She truly didn't know where Evelyn lived.

Suddenly, inspiration struck—Evelyn was right here in this hotel!

Turning to Adrian Valentine, she flashed a sweet smile. "Adrian, please entertain the guests. I'll take Mr. Lowell to find my sister."

If Theodore located Evelyn himself, she could still salvage this deception.

Adrian's penetrating gaze seemed to see straight through her.

Isabella held his stare with effort.

"Go ahead," Adrian said mildly. "Saving lives takes priority."

Relieved, Isabella guided Theodore toward the elevators.

Adrian watched their retreating figures thoughtfully before following.

Inside the elevator, Isabella explained, "Mr. Lowell, my sister works as Nathan Aldridge's assistant. Finding him will lead us to her."

Theodore was about to call Nathan when his phone rang.

Evelyn's number flashed on the screen.

Having noticed the missed call earlier, Evelyn had returned it upon remembering Natalie's condition.

"Mr. Lowell, Natalie's asthma shouldn't flare up if she took her medication on schedule," Evelyn's voice carried puzzlement.

"Natalie had a sudden attack during dinner," Theodore said shakily. "It's very serious now."

"Send me the hospital address. I'll come immediately."

"Thank God! I'm at the Imperial Palace Hotel right now."

"What a coincidence—so am I. Meet me downstairs."

Theodore exhaled in relief.

Isabella's tension also eased.

The elevator descended to the lobby.

Meanwhile, Adrian emerged from a neighboring elevator.

Frowning at the closed doors, he wondered if he'd followed them to the wrong floor.

As he turned, he spotted Evelyn stepping out of a private dining room.
