Chapter 412
Monica Valentine knew the game was over. She couldn't comprehend how her meticulously laid plans had collapsed at the final moment.
Adrian Valentine's bloodshot eyes bore into her, yet she twisted her lips into a grotesque smile.
"Adrian, your father died because of you," Monica shrieked. "If you hadn't been obsessed with uncovering your origins, he would still be alive! You—this unwanted bastard—are the real culprit!"
"How dare you!" Beatrice Valentine slammed her hand on the table as she rose.
Trembling with rage, she pointed at Monica. "You vile woman! You switched babies and forced a marriage, and now you have the audacity to distort the truth? What fault does my grandson bear? If not for your scheming with Vincent Langley, my son would have lived a happy life!"
A ruthless glint flashed in Beatrice's eyes. "Death would be too merciful for you. I'll make sure you rot in prison while watching your precious children's lives crumble."
"You tormented my grandson for over twenty years. Now it's your children's turn to suffer."
Monica whirled toward Gregory Valentine, desperation in her voice. "Gregory, remember—Isabella is your real sister! When your father comes for you, avenge me!"
Gregory scoffed. "Why should I? You dug your own grave. Lie in it."
Monica staggered as if struck by lightning, unable to believe the words from the son she had spoiled rotten.
Beatrice smirked coldly. "He inherited your selfish, heartless nature. When push comes to shove, he'll only save himself. Expecting him to avenge you? Maybe in your next life."
Suddenly, Mrs. Harrison stormed in. Beatrice signaled Victor to temporarily dismiss the officers.
"Monica!" Mrs. Harrison lunged at her, hysterical. "Because of you, the Harrisons are bankrupt! My husband divorced me!"
She slapped Monica hard across the face.
Monica stumbled back, now utterly defenseless.
Adrian's gaze flickered. It seemed his grandmother had orchestrated this final act.
But today's events couldn't have been Beatrice's doing—she adored Evelyn too much to ever let harm come to her.
Oblivious to the Valentines' tense atmosphere, Mrs. Harrison only had eyes for Monica.
The Harrisons were finished.
