Chapter 52

Martha trembled violently but could only stagger forward.

Heavy footsteps echoed outside the door.

A team of law enforcement officers filed in.

The captain scanned the room. "Is Madam Beatrice Valentine present?"

Margaret's pupils contracted sharply—she spotted her youngest son Gregory being escorted in.

Adrian's face darkened instantly. "Captain Song, what's the meaning of this?"

"Mr. Valentine, we received a tip that Gregory Valentine was caught illegally transferring shares belonging to your grandmother."

Adrian whirled toward Evelyn.

One side of her face remained swollen, her lips curled in mockery. "Weren't you just threatening to make my life hell, Adrian? Now you see who the real thief is?"

Isabella dug her nails into her palms.

How did this bitch manage to turn the tables again?

Rage simmered in Adrian's eyes. "Gregory!"

Gregory smirked coldly. "Martha stole them. What does that have to do with me? I thought Grandmother gave them to me."

Martha looked as if she'd been struck by lightning.

"Young Master!" Her voice shook. "But you were the one who—"

"Shut up!" Gregory narrowed his eyes. "Are you trying to get me killed?"

Martha suddenly pointed at Evelyn. "It was her! She bribed me to get back at the young master!"

Adrian's chest heaved violently. "Evelyn, do you hate me this much?"

Isabella seized the moment to fan the flames. "Adrian, a viper like her deserves—"

"Bullshit!"

A furious roar exploded from the staircase.
