Chapter 395

Sebastian Orlando looked down at Margaret Valentine with icy disdain. "Who did you plan to hit, you vile hag?"

Margaret's wrist throbbed with pain, but his chilling glare silenced her cries.

She turned her sneer toward Evelyn Roland instead. "You little tramp. Bringing your lover to fight your battles? Do you really think the Orlandos would want trash like you?"

Evelyn traced her fingers lightly over her wristwatch. "How's your back holding up, Margaret? Must be exhausting servicing Vincent Langley every night."

Margaret's pupils constricted.

How did she know about Vincent?

"Lies!" Margaret's voice trembled. "The Macmillans aren't done with you yet. Harrison will make you pay!"

"You should worry about yourself." Evelyn smiled faintly. "After all, what happened back then—"

Margaret lunged, but Sebastian kicked her away.

"Touch her again," he ground his heel into her outstretched hand, "and I'll make you beg for death. I'm sure the tabloids would love to expose the scandals of Mrs. Langley."

Adrian Valentine watched coldly before suddenly gripping his mother's wrist. "What's your connection to Vincent Langley?"

"Nonsense!" Margaret shook him off. "Go save Isabella!"

In the parking lot, Evelyn clenched the steering wheel.

"Sebastian, Margaret's reaction was too extreme."

He fastened her seatbelt, his fingers brushing a stray lock of hair behind her ear. "Isabella being kidnapped works in our favor."

His voice softened. "Today, your only concern is picking out a tie for me."

Adrian's phone rang as his car sped through the streets. His grandmother's voice was sharp. "Did your mother provoke the Macmillans again?"

Meanwhile, Margaret crouched behind a tree, dialing Vincent's number. "Evelyn Roland has to die."

The sound of shattering porcelain came through the line. "She's always guarded..."

"Then we target Sebastian." Margaret's lips twisted into a grotesque smile as she watched their car disappear. "I hear Mrs. Orlando despises actresses."
