Chapter 394

Margaret Valentine's accusation froze the air.

"Wasn't it you who caused your father's death?" Her shrill voice shattered the silence. "You'll never understand the pain of losing a husband!"

Adrian Valentine's knuckles turned white from clenching.

Victor Ashcroft swiftly stepped between them. "Sir, Chairman Langley is on the line. The kidnappers haven't made any demands yet."

Adrian gave a cold nod.

Evelyn Roland felt an invisible hand squeeze her heart.

She noticed Adrian's unusually harsh tone toward Margaret. In three years of marriage, she'd never heard him call her "Mom."

That five-year-old boy had only wanted a birthday surprise.

Now he carried the burden of patricide.

Margaret's affair with Vincent Langley had long been an open secret.

Evelyn's phone vibrated.

[Sis, Margaret always knew Isabella was her biological daughter.]

The message made Evelyn's pupils constrict.

If Adrian wasn't her real son...

"Evelyn!" Margaret's screech cut through her thoughts.

Margaret staggered forward, hatred burning in her eyes.

Her raised hand never made contact. Sebastian Orlando kicked her squarely in the stomach.

Margaret collapsed to the floor with a pained groan.
