Chapter 470

Evelyn's cheeks flushed crimson. She averted Adrian's intense gaze, her fingers nervously twisting the hem of her blouse.

"Mr. Valentine, you should knock before entering." Her voice trembled. "Where are your manners?"

Adrian leaned against the doorframe, a smirk playing on his lips. He slowly unbuttoned his suit jacket, his eyes never leaving her.

"Darling, when did I ever knock during our marriage?" His deep voice held a teasing lilt. "Changing clothes, taking showers—I always walked right in."

Evelyn's chest heaved with anger. The man's audacity was infuriating.

"We've been divorced for three years!" She gritted her teeth. "Adrian Valentine, have some decency!"

His smile froze. Memories flooded back—the painful decision to push her away for her own protection. The wounds still felt fresh.

"I'm sorry." His voice turned hoarse. "Back then—"

"Sorry doesn't fix anything." Evelyn's icy glare cut him off. "Don't show up unannounced again."

Adrian stepped closer suddenly. A sweet, milky fragrance tickled his nose. He frowned, perplexed.

"What's that scent?" He leaned toward her collar. "It's... intoxicating."

Evelyn scrambled backward, hiding her hands behind her back. A small damp patch stained her white blouse.

"I spilled some milk." She forced composure into her voice. "Just an accident."

Adrian's gaze dropped to her concealed hands. With lightning reflexes, he snatched the pink cup she'd been hiding.

"Hey!" Evelyn gasped.

Adrian tipped his head back and drained the remaining liquid. He licked his lips, savoring the taste.

"Not bad." He shook the empty cup. "Got any more?"

Evelyn's vision darkened. That had been her freshly expressed breast milk.
