Chapter 458

"Leonard Lefèvre, what gives you the right to force me into divorce?" Sophia Lefèvre slammed the table, her face pale with fury.

Christian Lefèvre remained motionless in his wheelchair, his lips curling into a cold smile.

"You ignored Mother for years, and now you pretend to care?"

Sophia stood beside her son, her fingers trembling slightly.

"Leonard, our marriage has been dead for a long time."

Leonard whipped his head around, panic flickering in his eyes.

"The company is barely surviving thanks to the Sophia family. Did you think I wouldn't find out?" Christian's voice was icy. "Sign today, or face a court summons tomorrow."

A cold sweat broke out on Leonard's forehead.

"Every villa and sports car you bought for Vanessa—they're all marital assets." Christian enunciated each word. "My lawyers will recover every cent."

Sophia gently squeezed her son's shoulder.

"We only want Christian and my company. You can keep the rest."

Leonard stared at the divorce papers, his hands shaking.

"You're really going this far?"

Sophia suddenly laughed, though her eyes remained frozen.

"Did you think about cruelty when you fathered a child behind my back?"

Leonard fell silent.

Christian turned his wheelchair away.

"Sign it. Don't make me lose what little respect I have left for you."

Leonard collapsed into his chair and scrawled his signature with violent force.

"You'll regret this!"

Sophia gathered the documents and pushed Christian out without looking back.

In the hallway, Leonard nearly collided with Adrian Valentine ascending the stairs.

They passed each other without acknowledgment.

Back in the room, Sophia finally broke down in tears.

"Christian, I'm so sorry..."

Christian clasped his mother's trembling hand.

"Mom, I've wanted you to leave him for years."

Sophia gazed at her son through blurred vision.

"That house was never our home."

Outside, the setting sun stretched their shadows long across the floor.
