Chapter 421
Adrian Valentine dialed Victor Ashcroft's number.
The call connected instantly.
"Bring two men," Adrian's voice was dangerously low.
Within minutes, Victor arrived with two bodyguards in tow.
Isabella Langley tried to leave but collided with Adrian's group.
"Adrian, what's the meaning of this?" She took a wary step back.
Adrian gave Victor a silent signal.
"Pick up those photos. Make her see clearly." His tone could freeze hell.
Victor bent to retrieve the pictures. His pupils constricted violently.
"Christian Lefèvre?" He looked up, stunned. "Isabella, what's your connection to him?"
The intimate poses in the photos burned Victor's retinas.
A realization struck him. "Wait—Christian's mysterious girlfriend abroad..."
Adrian stiffened as if an invisible hand crushed his heart.
Isabella bit her lower lip raw.
She couldn't confess. Admitting this would validate Evelyn's accusations.
"I don't understand," she turned away.
Christian had loved her deeply. Pity he lacked Adrian's ruthless ambition.
His weakness was his own undoing.
Only a man like Adrian deserved her.
Now everything lay in ruins.
Destroyed by her own parents.
Adrian advanced, his gaze sharper than daggers.
"Last chance, Isabella." Each syllable dripped ice. "What was your relationship with Christian? How did he die?"
Trembling under his intensity, tears spilled down her cheeks.
If he wanted the truth, she'd make him suffer eternally.
"Heh..." Her swollen face twisted into a grotesque smile.
"Adrian, you killed Christian! Evelyn's the murderer!" She shrieked hysterically. "The verdict drops soon. If you truly want justice, tell the Lefèvres the truth!"
"You're divorcing Evelyn to save your own skin, aren't you?"
Murderous intent swirled in Adrian's eyes.
Victor stared at his friend in shock.
Now he understood why Adrian had him investigate Christian's death.
"Isabella," Victor interjected coldly, "I've uncovered some leads."
He locked onto her evasive gaze. "Christian did have a girlfriend in Eastalia. Bought her an apartment. Which now belongs to you, correct?"
Isabella's face drained of color.
She never anticipated Victor's investigation would go this far.
