"If you want to tear off all pretenses, don't blame me for being ruthless." Vincent Langley's voice was icy as he cut her off. "Adrian's father was killed by—"

Before he could finish, Eleanor Langley's body stiffened and collapsed to the ground.

Adrian Valentine's gaze turned glacial, sharp as a blade as it locked onto Vincent. In that instant, he understood the truth Eleanor had been about to reveal before her death.

"Eleanor!" Vincent rushed forward, gathering his wife into his arms.

"Tsk, tsk. How ruthless of you, Chairman Langley." A mocking voice drifted from the shadows. "Even your own wife wasn't spared. We all know what she was about to say."

"Shut your mouth!" Vincent whirled around, veins bulging in fury. "Show yourself, you coward!"

"Guilty conscience?" The voice remained unhurried. "The Tang family massacre, Jonathan Savigny's 'accident'—did you really think you could bury the truth forever?"

Vincent's pupils constricted, sweat beading on his forehead.

"Lies!"

"Mrs. Valentine, wasn't it you who leaked Jonathan's itinerary back then?" The voice pressed on. "Did staging a car crash really put your mind at ease?"

"Enough!" Vincent roared, his face contorted with rage.

His frantic gaze snapped to Adrian, who was calmly picking up Eleanor's phone.

"Adrian, put that down!" Vincent's voice trembled.

Adrian methodically unlocked the screen, a cold smirk playing on his lips. "Mrs. Langley mentioned there was proof of your affair here."

The video began to play, the images painfully clear.

Margaret Valentine turned deathly pale, her entire body shaking.

"Wasn't my father's death supposed to be an accident?" Adrian asked softly, each word laced with venom.

"Adrian, let me explain—"

"Explain what?" Adrian suddenly laughed, the sound bordering on hysterical. "Decades' worth of footage needs an explanation?"

Margaret stared at him in despair. She knew it was over.

"This is a setup!" she shrieked. "Someone lured us here to turn us against each other!"

Adrian turned the phone screen toward her. "Then how do you explain these videos?"
