Chapter 363

Felicia tiptoed and smeared a dollop of cream right on Adrian Valentine's face.

Adrian froze.

The little girl's face was covered in cream, grinning like a mischievous kitten.

"Little troublemaker, learning to ambush now?"

He pulled out a tissue and gently wiped her cheeks. For a fleeting moment, he thought of the dream that never came true. If things had been different... their child would've been about her age.

"Thank you, Felicia. Uncle is very happy."

Felicia scooped another spoonful of cream and held it to his lips. Almost instinctively, Adrian opened his mouth.

"Ah—"

The sweetness of the cake melted on his tongue. Felicia's eyes curved into crescents as she fed him another bite.

They finished the entire cake together. Felicia patted her round belly and pointed to the sofa.

Confused, Adrian carried her over.

She glanced between the sofa and him, then suddenly spread her arms wide.

"Want a hug?"

The little one clumsily climbed onto his lap, found a cozy spot, and fell asleep instantly.

Her thick lashes fluttered like tiny fans.

Adrian's breath hitched. This child... why did she resemble him?

Her eyes were just like hers, but her features held a faint trace of his own.

He shook his head with a self-deprecating smile. Since when did he deserve such fortune?

Soft, even breaths warmed his chest. The little girl slept soundly in his arms.

This feeling of being needed melted his heart completely.

Scarlett Orlando was having tea with the old master.

"Tristan should be napping by now." She picked up the fussy toddler. "Where's Felicia?"

"Asleep on the sofa."

Half an hour later, after putting Tristan to bed, Scarlett returned to find the sofa empty.

"Felicia?"

She searched every corner, her back drenched in cold sweat.

The old master's voice trembled over the phone. "What do you mean gone?"

"I mean—" Scarlett's throat tightened. "Felicia is missing!"

She locked the door and rushed outside, calling down the street, "Felicia Roland! If you don't come out right now, Mommy will be very angry!"

That clever little imp was probably hiding somewhere, giggling to herself.
