Chapter 330

Evelyn scrolled through the comments on her phone, her expression calm as still water.

The vicious words rained down like hail, yet not a single one left a mark on her heart.

She wouldn't let these rumors affect her.

The moment she stepped through the door, Scarlett's furious voice greeted her.

"Have these keyboard warriors lost their minds? Accusing you of killing Julian Roscente? They should write fiction instead!"

Warmth blossomed in Evelyn's chest, and the corners of her lips lifted slightly.

"Scarlett, don't let it upset you."

Scarlett whirled around, her eyes widening when she saw Evelyn still smiling. She stomped her foot in frustration.

"The internet is tearing you apart! How can you laugh at a time like this?"

She rushed forward and pulled Evelyn into a tight embrace. "Those people are despicable!"

Evelyn gently patted her back. "A few insults won't kill me."

"You always say that!" Scarlett's eyes reddened with urgency. "Isabella's fans are protesting outside Sterling Manor with banners!"

Evelyn arched a brow, unshaken. "Looks like I'm trending again."

Scarlett and Victoria exchanged bewildered glances.

Meanwhile, in Sebastian's apartment...

He was on the phone with Sebastian Cortez, whose voice simmered with suppressed rage.

"You promised to protect her, and now the entire internet is attacking her!"

Sebastian's expression darkened. "I underestimated the situation. But this confirms one thing—Vincent still has a mole in the presidential palace."

Sebastian Cortez's voice sharpened. "That person has been hiding for over a decade, and Sterling Manor has always been their target. Vincent is just their pawn!"

"I know." Sebastian tightened his grip on the phone. "I'll handle the online backlash. Be careful on your end."

"Don't act rashly!" Sebastian Cortez warned. "She has her own plans. Interfering could ruin everything."

After hanging up, Sebastian immediately called his assistant.

"Release the statement as planned."

He grabbed his coat and strode toward the door to pick up Evelyn and the others.

The auction hall glittered under dazzling lights.

Scarlett looped her arm through Evelyn's, eagerly describing tonight's auction items.

"Evelyn, I'm going to make my brother win that pink diamond for you!"

Evelyn glanced at the composed Sebastian and shook her head with a smile. "My jewelry box is already overflowing."

Scarlett opened her mouth to argue when her pupils suddenly constricted.

A stranger charged toward them, a bucket in hand.

"Evelyn Roland, you murderer—die!"
