Chapter 247
Julian Roscente's eyes darkened as his slender fingers tapped the steering wheel. "Head back to the office first."
Victor Ashcroft's whereabouts remained a mystery.
If Mr. Ashcroft allowed him to leave without concern, he must have gone somewhere safe.
Adrian Valentine drove much slower than before, as if waiting for something.
When the car stopped at the company building, Julian's phone lit up at the perfect moment.
"Speak."
"Mr. Roscente, Miss Langley is in Ms. Orlando's office."
Julian glanced up at the towering skyscraper. "Perfect timing. I'm downstairs now."
Adrian had just turned off the engine when he heard those words. He stepped out of the car with a sharp gust of wind at his back.
Julian followed, a playful smirk curling his lips. "Drove so slow—afraid of seeing her?"
Adrian didn’t even spare him a glance. "Shut up."
Before the words fully left his mouth, Sebastian Orlando brushed past them with a massive bouquet of crimson roses.
"Sophia, I got the cake."
"The restaurant is booked. Just waiting for you to finish work."
He hurried toward the elevator, pretending not to notice the two CEOs.
Julian arched a brow. "Who is he calling?"
Adrian’s gaze fixed on Sebastian’s retreating figure, dark currents swirling in his eyes.
As the elevator doors began to close, Julian darted inside.
Adrian shot him a cold look.
"Just borrowing a hiding spot." Julian shrugged. "Your sister and fiancée are harder to shake than vengeful ghosts."
Adrian’s jaw tightened in silence, the air around him turning frigid.
Julian sighed inwardly. The man had grown even more brooding lately.
Downstairs, Cassandra Valentine stomped her foot in frustration. "Julian keeps avoiding me now, Isabella."
Isabella Langley gently patted her back, a calculating glint flashing in her eyes.
The prey had entered the cage.
How much longer could the Roscente family hold out?
