Chapter 242
Adrian Valentine was consumed by fury.
He strode to the wine cabinet and retrieved a bottle of aged Romanée-Conti.
The crimson liquid swirled in the crystal glass as he wordlessly slid one toward Julian Roscente.
Julian took a sip. "Adrian, I've uncovered the truth about last time. Isabella Langley and Cassandra Valentine conspired together."
Adrian's gaze remained fixed on the night outside the window. "My family affairs are none of your concern."
Julian's grip tightened around his glass.
"Is she worth it?" His voice was low.
Adrian finally turned, his eyes sharp as blades. "You've crossed a line."
The air turned icy.
Julian gave a bitter laugh. "The recent events with the Ashcrofts made one thing clear—the mastermind is making their move."
"But someone seems to know the truth." His tone was pointed.
Adrian frowned. "Who?"
"Evelyn Roland." Julian drained his glass. "She predicted the danger twice."
Adrian's knuckles whitened. "She's just an ordinary woman."
"Is she?" Julian countered meaningfully.
Adrian fell silent. He knew better than anyone—that woman's secrets ran deeper than he imagined.
Evelyn had just stepped through her front door when Zachary Deross sidled up with a mischievous grin.
"Boss, sent the video to your phone." He winked. "It's... explosive. Recommend watching it alone."
Evelyn arched a brow. "You watched it?"
Zachary's ears turned red instantly. "Live footage... Old Jiang's got stamina."
Evelyn's face flushed, and she turned on her heel.
Behind her, Zachary burst into laughter.
"Still so innocent, Boss!" he called after her.
Without looking back, Evelyn raised her middle finger.
As she entered the living room, Nathan Aldridge's call came through.
"The tea exhibition is set." His voice was cheerful. "When are you 'borrowing' the old man's prized collection?"
Evelyn sighed. "Why does it have to be stealing?"
She glanced at her grandfather, happily playing with the two children.
"Don't worry. I have a plan." She ended the call and walked toward them with a smile.
"Grandpa, I'm home."
