Chapter 207

A cold glint flashed in Sebastian Orlando's eyes as his fingers tapped twice on the steering wheel.

The traffic light turned red. He picked up his phone and sent a quick message.

"Evelyn, drink some water." He unscrewed the thermos and handed it to her.

Evelyn Roland cradled the cup lid, taking small sips as the warm liquid soothed her throat.

"You're so thoughtful, Sebastian."

The corner of his mouth lifted slightly as he restarted the car, heading toward the mall.

Meanwhile, the Ashcroft residence was in complete disarray.

Vincent Ashcroft hummed a tune as he pushed open the door, nearly tripping over a suitcase.

"Dad! What's going on? Didn't the company just recover?"

Vincent Ashcroft Sr. turned from the floor-to-ceiling window. Though father and son shared similar features, their expressions couldn't have been more different.

"Idiot!" The older man grabbed his son by the collar.

"Evelyn seduced you? As if you were worthy!"

Vincent struggled to defend himself.

"I was just trying to save the company—"

A sharp slap cut him off.

"By ruining a girl's reputation to save the company?" His father trembled with rage.

"Even Adrian Valentine couldn't win her over. Who the hell do you think you are?"

Vincent stood frozen, clutching his stinging cheek.

"I've paid the taxes." The older man released him, exhaustion weighing on his voice.

"From today onward, you're no longer the Ashcroft heir. Think hard about who was really using you last night."

The sound of rolling suitcase wheels faded into the distance.
