Chapter 204
Adrian Valentine's grip tightened around his phone.
He immediately dialed Victor Ashcroft's number.
"Sir, I just arrived at the hotel to check the surveillance footage," Victor's voice was cautious.
"Get to the point." Adrian's tone was icy.
Victor swallowed hard on the other end. "Sir, Ms. Roland used a fake identity. I've checked every person named Evelyn in Vienna—none of them match her. The vehicles picking her up change daily, and the driver is suspiciously elusive. There's no record of her employment in our system either."
"Keep digging." Adrian's voice dropped lower. "Recall Lucien from abroad to assist with the Vincent Langley investigation."
Victor exhaled in relief. "Thank goodness, sir. I've been working nonstop lately—I'm better suited for collecting paychecks than actual work."
"Enough." Adrian ended the call abruptly.
Victor made a face at his phone. He patted his wallet and muttered encouragement to himself: "For the future wife—keep grinding, working man!"
Evelyn Roland woke naturally to sunlight filtering through the sheer curtains.
Her two children still slept soundly beside her.
She dressed them carefully, moving quietly. Gabrielle Flores entered just as she finished.
"Sebastian's here," Gabrielle whispered with a wink. "He wants to take you to breakfast and shopping. And he looks extra dashing today."
Evelyn smiled. "Alright."
Gabrielle beamed. "I'll handle the kids. Christian's acupuncture is done—no need for you to visit today."
Evelyn's expression sobered. "Gabrielle, Christian's situation stays confidential. There's more to his attack years ago. I'll investigate properly once things settle."
"Don't worry." Gabrielle lifted the hungry Ethan, who was chewing his fingers. "Let's get breakfast first."
Downstairs, Sebastian Orlando had been waiting.
He took Ethan from Gabrielle, cradling the boy like precious porcelain.
"Sleep well last night?" he asked softly.
Evelyn adjusted Felicia in her arms. "They were angels—slept through mostly."
Sebastian's eyes flickered with concern. "I just hate seeing you exhausted."
"Sis! Check the news!" Victoria Laurent burst in, phone raised, her face pale.
