Chapter 175
Warren's lips curled into a cold smirk as his gaze lingered on Isabella's flushed face. A single glass of red wine had painted her cheeks pink, her eyes glazed with intoxication.
"Isabella, opportunities always come." His slender fingers lifted her chin, his voice a low murmur. "Do you really love Adrian that much?"
Without hesitation, she nodded. "He's the most captivating man I've ever met. I want no one else."
She remembered the first time she saw Adrian—standing bathed in sunlight, one glance was all it took to fall for him. Later, with some behind-the-scenes help, she finally got close to him.
A shadow flickered in Warren's eyes. That enigmatic man didn't deserve Isabella.
He leaned in, his breath hot against her ear.
Isabella shivered, her voice trembling. "Warren, what are you doing?"
Her eyes held conflicted emotions—fear and anticipation intertwined.
Warren traced his thumb along her soft cheek, smiling meaningfully. "I know you're lonely. Let me keep you company."
She clenched her fists, biting her lip. "No..."
"Every time we're in the car together, your scent drives me wild." He pulled her into his arms, burying his face in the curve of her neck.
Her body went weak, melting against him.
Warren smiled in satisfaction. Her resistance was paper-thin.
"I'm Adrian's woman. How dare you touch me?" she protested coyly.
His eyes darkened as his fingers wandered. "Little temptress."
He captured her lips in a kiss, and she half-heartedly reciprocated.
The desire of a mature man ignited instantly.
Thinking of Adrian's cold indifference over the past year, resentment surged in Isabella's heart. Finally, she wrapped her arms around Warren's firm waist.
He was ecstatic. After a year of waiting, he finally had her.
Seeing her pliant submission, his last shred of restraint vanished.
The sound of tearing fabric pierced the silent room...
The next morning, Evelyn was preparing breakfast for her two children when Nathan called, asking about the online PR strategy.
Only then did she remember her interrupted call with Adrian the night before. She picked up a dumpling and replied calmly, "Release the footage of Isabella hiring a hitman."
It was the plan she and Adrian had agreed on.
"Understood." Nathan was about to hang up when Isabella's call flashed on Evelyn's screen.
"Wait." Evelyn stopped him. "Isabella's calling. Let's hear what she has to say."
Nathan warned immediately, "Boss, don't go soft this time."
Evelyn chuckled. "When have I ever gone soft?"
"Every time it involves Adrian, you—" Nathan hung up mid-sentence.
Shaking her head, Evelyn fed her daughter a spoonful of rice porridge and answered the other call.
"Hello."
"Evelyn! I'll clarify the online rumors myself." Isabella's voice was frantic. "As for what you're accusing me of, it's pure slander! If you dare spread lies, we'll go down together!"
"Adrian will clear my name!" she shrieked hysterically.
