Chapter 103
Nathan Aldridge glared coldly at Vincent Langley. The old fox was playing his games well.
Nathan stood his ground and quickly sent a message to Evelyn Roland.
Evelyn's eyes turned sharp as she read it.
So it was Vincent Langley after all.
The older ginger was indeed spicier.
By diverting all attention to her, he could both let others investigate him and clear his own name.
Vincent portrayed himself as a philanthropist and entrepreneur.
But the shady dealings behind the scenes—she would uncover them sooner or later.
He was the first one searching for the painting. The tragedy that befell the Durand family was undoubtedly linked to him.
Evelyn: [Rumors die with the wise. You know what to do?]
Nathan instantly understood. His gaze toward Vincent turned razor-sharp. "Mr. Langley, that's quite an accusation. Evelyn used to be my assistant. How is it that I never knew she was Alexander Durand's girlfriend? You were close with the Durand patriarch. If anyone knows the family's secrets, it's you. Unless... you're trying to hoard the truth for yourself by pinning it on some country girl?"
Vincent had just relaxed when Nathan's words startled him again.
He whipped his head toward Nathan. Why was this brat suddenly speaking up?
He knew about the painting's secret but couldn't decipher the map's riddle. Just one location—that was all he needed to strike gold.
The other executives' expressions darkened.
Vincent suppressed his fury. "Mr. Aldridge, you seem quite familiar with Evelyn. How can you be so sure she wasn't involved with Alexander?"
His own daughter had used this very tactic to make Adrian Valentine misunderstand Evelyn.
If Adrian ever learned the truth...
"We are familiar. But you were far closer to the Durands. Any secrets would reach you first. If you want to keep everything for yourself, just say so. No need to drag an innocent girl into this."
Nathan deliberately redirected the fire toward Vincent.
"Besides, if Evelyn knew the secret, wouldn't she have gone after the diamonds herself? Would she just stand by and watch others profit?"
Vincent: "..."
If he had nothing useful to say, he should've kept his mouth shut.
"Mr. Aldridge—"
Nathan's phone suddenly rang.
He flashed Vincent a smile. "Mr. Langley, wealth is best shared. Contribute your efforts, pay your dues. Stop pretending—with your ties to the Durands, everyone believes you know more. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have an important call to take."
With that, he walked off, leaving chaos in his wake.
Vincent's face turned livid.
That bastard did this on purpose!
Who else knew about the secret besides him?
Who leaked the information?
The crowd immediately swarmed Vincent, voices overlapping in a frenzy.
Not far away, Adrian Valentine observed everything with cold detachment.
His expression unreadable, he turned and left without a word.
Even Nathan knew about Evelyn's connection to Alexander.
Yet her own husband had been kept in the dark?
Evelyn... just how many more secrets are you hiding from me?
Adrian got into his car and instructed Victor Ashcroft to drive him home.
In the crowd, Isabella Langley caught sight of Adrian.
She chased after him but found no trace. Stomping her foot in frustration, she seethed.
"Miss, the chairman is surrounded," her driver reminded her.
Isabella thought of the storm surrounding the Durand family's secrets, rage boiling inside her.
Who the hell leaked it?
