Chapter 445

Jason Roscente stood at the base of the Roscente Group skyscraper, staring up at the glass facade that disappeared into the clouds. His palms were damp with sweat.

He tightened his grip on his phone. Vivian Ashcroft's text still glowed on the screen: "Betray the organization, and I'll tell everyone about you stealing my snacks!"

The elevator doors opened and closed three times. Jason couldn't bring himself to step inside.

"Got it!" He smacked his forehead.

If he couldn't be the traitor, why not let his uncle discover the truth himself?

The door to the CEO's office flew open.

Ethan Roscente was signing documents when his fountain pen skidded across the page, leaving an ink stain.

"Uncle!" Jason rushed to the desk. "Sophia's pregnant!"

The pen clattered onto the paperwork.

Zachary Evans fumbled, dropping an armful of folders.

"What did you say?" Ethan's voice was glacial.

Jason swallowed hard. "It's... exactly what it sounds like. If you two get back together, you'll be parents soon."

He watched Ethan's expression carefully before adding, "Sophia told me herself."

Ethan's eyes darkened.

Yesterday, that woman had insisted she didn't want his child. And now...

"What else did she say?"

"Well..." Jason's eyes darted. "She said she might consider it... if you called off your engagement to Isabella."

The office air conditioning suddenly felt arctic.

Zachary retreated to a corner, pretending to be part of the furniture.

"How much?" Ethan asked abruptly.

"Huh?"

"Allowance." Ethan already had his phone in hand.

Jason's face lit up. He held up five fingers.

Three minutes later, as Jason skipped out of the office, Zachary couldn't resist asking, "Mr. Roscente, are you—"

"Get the car ready." Ethan straightened his cuffs as he stood. "We're going to Lowell Enterprises."

Zachary's eyes widened. "You're going to tell Ms. Lowell the good news in person?"

Ethan's lips curved slightly. "If she dared to send Jason as her messenger, she should have anticipated the consequences."

Meanwhile, Sophia Lowell sneezed in the middle of a board meeting.

"Strange," she murmured, rubbing her nose. "Why do I suddenly have a bad feeling about this?"
