Chapter 123

Ethan Roscente watched Sebastian Valdemar with cold disdain, a flicker of mockery in his eyes.

A married man still coveting Sophia Lowell? What a delusion.

He took a sip from his wine glass, his tone indifferent. "He's barely passable for you. If you can actually land him, I'll be impressed."

If Tiffany Roscente could keep Sebastian occupied, that man wouldn't have the energy to harass Sophia.

Beneath her lowered lashes, Isabella Valentine's eyes darkened with calculation.

She knew Ethan's game too well. This so-called support for his niece's pursuit of love was just a ploy to sever Sebastian's lingering attachment to Sophia.

What kind of spell had that wretched girl cast over Ethan?

Her gaze flicked to Tiffany's blushing face, and her red lips curved slightly.

"Your standards are too high, Uncle," Tiffany pouted. "Even Professor Valdemar doesn't meet them?"

Isabella gently linked arms with her. "Your uncle just thinks his precious niece deserves better."

Tiffany blinked playfully. "The best is you, Uncle. Isabella hit the jackpot with you."

Isabella glanced shyly at Ethan's flawless profile and murmured, "Ethan, I'll take Tiffany to freshen up."

After receiving his absent-minded acknowledgment, she led Tiffany toward the restroom.

"Is something bothering you?" Tiffany paused at the vanity.

Isabella's expression turned serious. "Are you really set on Professor Valdemar?"

Tiffany adjusted her hair in the mirror, her gaze distant. "I fell for him at first sight."

She'd schemed to eliminate rivals just to get close to him. Even knowing he'd reluctantly accepted her as a student, she'd forced her way in.

Isabella sighed. "But he's in love with someone else..."

"So what?" Tiffany cut her off, flames of determination igniting in her eyes. "I always get what I want."

The girl in the mirror flashed a triumphant smile, as if already seeing her prey ensnared.
