Chapter 497
"Stop!" Sophia's voice sliced through the air.
She saw the madness in Ethan's eyes, her nails digging into her palms. "I'll give you anything. Just don't hurt him—"
Sebastian was pinned to the ground, the glint of the Swiss Army Knife blinding her.
"Kiss me," Ethan demanded suddenly.
Sophia's pupils contracted.
His thumb dragged across her trembling lips. "I thought you said you'd do anything?"
The bodyguard pressed the blade against Sebastian's wrist.
Sophia rose onto her toes.
The kiss tasted like blood. Ethan gripped her waist, his voice icy. "You'd throw away your dignity for him?"
She swallowed the salt of her own tears.
Then Ethan took control, kissing her until she gasped for air. He only released her when her legs buckled.
"Get out." He kicked over the coffee table. Glass shards grazed Sebastian's temple.
As she was dragged away, a sharp pain tore through her abdomen. Six months pregnant—her back was drenched in cold sweat.
"Slow down..." She doubled over in agony.
Ethan sneered. "Still acting? Weren't you just playing the devoted lover?"
The elevator numbers climbed.
Sophia realized with dread—they were heading to the rooftop. Moonlight through the glass walls made Ethan's profile look demonic.
"Where are you taking me?" Her voice shook.
He wound his tie around her wrists. "To show you the price of betrayal."
The rooftop wind howled. Sophia shielded her belly as she stepped back, her heel catching in a drain.
Ethan froze.
Under the moonlight, the blood seeping through her skirt was unmistakable.
