Chapter 255
Ethan Roscente's dark gaze burned into her, intense and unyielding.
He guided her hand slowly across his sculpted abs. Each muscle was taut and warm beneath her fingertips.
Sophia Lowell's fingers trembled slightly.
Their breaths mingled, the air thick with tension.
"Like what you feel?" His voice was low, his lips brushing against her flushed ear.
Heat rushed to Sophia's ears.
She tried to pull away, but his grip tightened.
"Tell me," he murmured, nipping at her earlobe.
A shiver ran down her spine, weakening her resolve.
Her mind screamed to resist, but her body betrayed her with a small nod.
Ethan chuckled darkly, guiding her hand lower—
"Wait!" Sophia jerked back as if burned. "We agreed—"
"Agreed on what?" He arched a brow, amusement glinting in his eyes. "You started this."
Realization dawned.
"You set me up!" She shoved him away, flustered.
Ethan leaned lazily against the desk, watching her with smoldering intensity. "You wouldn't have fallen for it if you weren't already thinking about it."
"Shut up!"
Sophia grabbed the nearest cookie jar and shoved it at him, desperate to change the subject.
He took a deliberate bite.
"I'm hungry," he said pointedly. "You promised dinner."
She stiffened—right.
"I'll start now." She hurried to the fridge, avoiding his gaze. "Put your shirt on first."
Ethan scoffed. "A little late for that."
Ignoring him, she rummaged through the fridge.
Then she spotted the cat food bag peeking from the cabinet.
Her head snapped up.
"Wait—where did you get that cookie?"
