Chapter 133
"If you can't control that mouth of yours, I'll gladly shut it for you." Ethan Roscente's gaze was sharp as a blade, his voice colder than ice.
Felix Roland pouted. "Why are you taking it out on me—"
Before he could finish, he noticed Ethan bending to pick up the broken jade hairpin from the floor. His eyes lit up with amusement. "Tsk, tsk. Sophia's got quite the grip. Can't even twist open a water bottle normally, but now she's snapping hairpins in half..." He stroked his chin thoughtfully. "Think she was aiming for your skull instead?"
Ethan stared at the fractured hairpin in his palm, his knuckles turning white. The sharp edges had left faint cuts, drawing blood.
"Care to test how thick your own skull is?" He lifted his gaze slowly, danger swirling in his eyes.
Felix immediately mimed zipping his lips shut.
Sophia Lowell stormed back into the banquet hall and downed a glass of juice in one gulp.
That bastard had played her!
All this time, she'd thought she was the one who'd lost control and climbed into his bed. The guilt had eaten at her. But it turned out Ethan had orchestrated everything.
No wonder there hadn't been a single bodyguard around that night. No wonder he'd been just drunk enough...
The more she thought about it, the angrier she got. She grabbed another glass and drained it.
Strange. Why was she feeling so dizzy?
Sophia rubbed her temples as an unnatural heat spread through her body. Her cheeks burned, and her breathing grew uneven.
She tugged at her collar, but it only made her feel hotter.
Sebastian Valdemar spotted Sophia slumped on a sofa, her hair cascading loosely. She irritably tucked a strand behind her ear, her flushed face unbearably adorable.
"What are you standing around for?" Theodore Orlando appeared behind him unexpectedly. "If you like her, go after her."
"But her heart—"
"So what if her heart belongs to someone else?" Theodore glared. "As long as she's not married, you've got a shot. A girl like that shouldn't go to waste on outsiders."
Sebastian smiled bitterly. "She's pregnant."
"What?!" Theodore's voice boomed. "Sophia's pregnant? Who's the father?"
