Chapter 365

Vivian Ashcroft stared at the bathroom door as it closed. Her phone screen suddenly lit up with a message from Jason Roscente.

She silenced it with one glance and flipped the phone face down on the table.

The TV played a variety show, but she couldn’t focus on a single word. Her fingers tapped absently against the armrest, her gaze drifting toward the phone.

A sharp slap echoed through the room as she struck her own cheek.

"Vivian, get a fucking grip!"

The next morning, Sophia Lowell’s eyes stung as soon as she woke to a news notification. The headline blared: "Ethan Roscente Spends the Night with Isabella Valentine."

The accompanying photo showed the same doe-eyed girl from last night following Ethan home.

Sophia smirked at the image. The paparazzi had mistaken the girl for Isabella. That socialite princess would be livid when she saw this.

Men’s promises were nothing but lies.

On the day of her prenatal checkup, Sophia went to the hospital alone. Vivian had wanted to accompany her but was tied up with filming.

"The baby is healthy, but you’re too thin," the doctor said, flipping through the report. "Eat more nutritious meals. Exercise will help with a smooth delivery."

Sophia took the ultrasound printout, her expression softening at the blurry little figure.

"I’ll take care of it."

As she stepped out of the examination room, Vivian called.

"The doctor says the baby’s healthy, just that I need to eat more," Sophia said, walking while talking. Suddenly, someone blocked her path.

She sidestepped left, but the person mirrored her movement. Looking up, she met Isabella’s triumphant smile.

"Can I help you?" Sophia ended the call.

Isabella crossed her arms, grinning smugly. "Ethan and I are getting married this weekend. You must come."

Sophia’s heart lurched.

So soon?
