Chapter 38
Sophia struggled violently in Ethan's arms, her nails leaving red marks on his forearms.
"Let me go!"
Her voice trembled as her back pressed against the cold elevator wall.
Ethan pinned both her wrists with one hand and pressed the penthouse button with the other.
"Scared now?"
He leaned close, his breath hot against her ear. "You were quite the flirt earlier."
As the elevator doors closed, Sophia caught sight of Vivian slumped drunkenly over the bar.
"Vivian's still there—"
Her eyes reddened, voice thick with tears.
Ethan smirked. "Felix will handle it."
The elevator ascended, the confined space filled only with their ragged breathing.
Sophia went still.
She knew this man too well.
Resistance only made him more relentless.
"Ethan."
She tilted her face up, her voice feather-soft. "We ended this long ago."
His eyes darkened. He slammed her against the mirrored wall.
"Ended?"
His fingers traced her collarbone. "Who gave you permission?"
——
In the underground parking lot, Daniel barely stood before Felix kicked him down again.
"E-Ethan's woman?"
Snot and tears streaked his terrified face.
Vivian staggered over, smashing a bottle over his head.
"You bastard! How dare you touch my Sophia!"
The sound of shattering glass echoed through the garage.
——
In the backseat of the black Maybach, Sophia scrambled toward the opposite door the moment Ethan threw her inside.
He yanked her back by the ankle.
"Running?"
His grip on her chin turned vicious. "Weren't you eager to seduce men earlier?"
Sophia winced but glared defiantly.
"Who I'm with is none of your business."
A sharp pain exploded in her shoulder.
Ethan had bitten her.
She arched off the seat, fingers clawing the leather.
When he pulled back, his gaze burned into the reddened teeth marks.
"Say that again."
His hand slid under her shirt, voice dangerous.
Sophia shuddered—then suddenly clutched her stomach.
"I... I'm pregnant."
The air turned to ice.
Ethan froze. A storm raged in his eyes.
"Whose?"
The word tore from his clenched teeth.
Sophia turned her face away.
"Not yours."
He slammed her onto the seat.
Ripping open her collar, he hissed,
"Then get rid of it."
