Chapter 351
"You're going."
Ethan Roscente's tone brooked no argument.
Sophia Lowell turned her face away, lips pressed into a stubborn line.
He suddenly leaned in, warm breath brushing her ear. "Consider it a farewell dinner." His voice dropped lower. "Unless you're having second thoughts?"
The phrase "farewell dinner" made Sophia's heart skip.
She whirled around to meet his fathomless gaze.
"After this meal, we're even." A ghost of a smile played on his lips. "I won't bother you again."
Sophia studied him suspiciously.
This wasn't Ethan's usual style.
Without warning, his arm snaked around her waist, pulling her flush against him. "Walk there yourself, or I'll carry you."
Sophia collided with his chest, drawing knowing glances from passersby.
Her ears burned with embarrassment as she surrendered.
The restaurant was an understated gem—a private Suzhou-style garden estate.
Following a winding corridor, a cheongsam-clad hostess led them to their private dining room.
Beyond the latticed windows, an artfully arranged rock garden with flowing water created a serene atmosphere. Sophia felt her tension ease despite herself.
After ordering, Ethan suddenly made a call. "Bring her in."
Sophia's head snapped up.
"Relax." He scoffed. "I keep my promises."
The door opened to reveal his bodyguard. "Mr. Roscente, she's here."
Ethan nodded.
The door swung open again, and Tiffany Roscente stumbled inside.
The once-pampered socialite now looked disheveled, her eyes unfocused.
Spotting Sophia, she lunged with a shriek. "You bitch! This is all your fault!"
Bodyguards restrained her flailing limbs.
"Uncle's bewitched by you!" Tiffany screamed hysterically. "Just like Isabella said—you're nothing but a cheap seductress!"
Ethan's expression turned glacial.
"Apparently solitary confinement didn't teach you manners."
