Chapter 310

Sophia Lowell watched the scene before her with icy detachment, her lips curling into a mocking smile.

No wonder Ethan Roscente had suddenly dismissed her that afternoon.

So Isabella Valentine had arrived.

She turned to leave, only to find Dominic Valrose blocking her path.

"Don't rush off, Miss Lowell." His smile was knowing. "Since Mr. Roscente is busy with his fiancée, perhaps I could keep you company?"

Sophia lifted her gaze, sharp as a blade.

"Did you summon me here just to witness this spectacle, Mr. Valrose?"

She saw right through his game.

Unfazed, he stepped closer.

"You're clever, Miss Lowell. Why not come work for me?" His voice dropped to a whisper. "I'll double whatever Ethan offers."

Sophia retreated half a step, disgust flashing in her eyes.

"You flatter me."

"Three million." He held up three fingers. "That's my offer."

A soft laugh escaped her lips.

"Three hundred million." Her red lips parted. "That's Mr. Roscente's price."

Dominic's face darkened instantly.

"You're mocking me?"

As he bristled, footsteps echoed from the staircase.

Ethan descended leisurely, Isabella trailing behind him.

The man's slender fingers were fastening his cufflinks with deliberate slowness.

Sophia noticed he'd changed shirts.

A wave of nausea churned in her stomach.

Ethan's gaze landed on her, then flicked to Dominic.

The air froze.

"Weren't you negotiating a price, Mr. Valrose?" Sophia's mocking eyes turned to him. "The decision-maker has arrived."

Dominic's face turned ashen as he slunk away.

Sophia stood bathed in the light, the hem of her dress swaying gracefully.
