Chapter 210
Sophia Lowell had to replace her entire set of communication devices after her phone got waterlogged. Standing in the service center, she stared blankly at the screen of her new phone.
Eight missed calls from "Ethan the Bastard."
Her finger hovered over the screen, hesitating whether to call back, when the phone suddenly vibrated.
"What now?" she answered sharply.
"Miss Lowell!" Zachary Evans' panicked voice came through, gasping for breath. "Mr. Roscente has a high fever—he's unconscious!"
"Take him to the hospital," she said flatly.
"He refuses!" Zachary's voice trembled. "His temperature is 103.6°F. If this continues, it could be dangerous!"
Sophia clenched the phone. The same thing happened last time Ethan was injured—he wouldn’t let anyone near him.
"He was out in the rain all night," Zachary suddenly whispered. "Because he gave his car to you..."
Sophia’s breath hitched.
"Where’s the driver?"
"Sent to supervise Miss Tiffany’s punishment in the Ancestral Hall." Zachary gave a bitter laugh. "Mr. Roscente’s phone died, so he walked all the way back to Bayview Residences."
A dull thud sounded from the other end of the line.
"Miss Lowell! He collapsed again!" Zachary was practically shouting now. "I’m begging you—"
"Send me the address." She hung up and flagged down a taxi.
The scenery outside the window blurred past. Sophia stared at her whitened knuckles and realized—her hands were shaking.
