Chapter 154
"Sophia! Shut your mouth!" Ethan Roscente glared at the reckless woman before him, his jaw clenched in fury.
Sophia Lowell instantly transformed into a frightened rabbit, darting behind the traffic officer. Her voice trembled with fake tears. "Officer, look how he’s threatening me! I’m terrified he’ll hit me..."
The officer immediately stepped forward, shielding her. "Daring to threaten someone in front of the police? Outrageous! Xiao Zhang, run a breathalyzer on him!"
The young officer approached with the device. "Sir, please blow into this."
Ethan’s dark eyes burned into Sophia, a storm of rage swirling in their depths.
From behind the officer’s back, Sophia stuck out her tongue at him, silently taunting: Come on, try and catch me.
A vein throbbed at Ethan’s temple as he forced himself to exhale into the device.
"Test confirms alcohol in his system," the officer announced sternly. "Sir, you’ll need to come with us."
"Impossible!" Ethan snapped, his sharp gaze slicing toward Sophia. "The tiramisu—"
Sophia tilted her chin up smugly, mouthing: Surprise!
"Still making excuses?" The officer waved impatiently. "Take him away!"
Ethan let out a cold laugh. "I’m the CEO of Roscente Group—"
"I don’t care who you are!" the officer cut him off. "Drunk driving is illegal!"
Sophia chimed in sweetly. "Officer, I barely know him. He dragged me into his car outside a bar..."
"What? And now kidnapping?" The officer’s eyes blazed. "That’s an additional charge!"
Ethan’s expression darkened to murderous levels. He enunciated each word slowly. "Sophia. You’re dead."
Sophia shrank behind the officer, trembling dramatically. "Officer, he’s threatening me again!"
"Don’t worry," the officer reassured her, patting her shoulder. "He won’t lay a finger on you with us here. Go home, miss."
Sophia bowed obediently. "Thank you, Officer!"
As the police car sped away, Sophia pulled out her phone and dialed Zachary Evans. "Zach, your boss got arrested for drunk driving. Better bail him out from XX precinct—fast."
"What?" Zachary’s sleepiness vanished. "Mr. Roscente would never—"
"Don’t believe me? Listen." Sophia held her phone toward the fading siren. "If you don’t hurry, he’ll be spending the night in a cell."
