Chapter 489
Evelyn had always been headstrong when she set her sights on something. Once physics experiments captured her imagination, she threw herself into every lesson with newfound enthusiasm.
Her physics grades remained impeccable throughout junior high at the prestigious private academy. The institution offered an impressive curriculum that went beyond traditional academics, including specialized vocational courses.
When high school began, Evelyn started taking advanced classes in her chosen field. By freshman year, she was already enrolled in business management courses.
While most teenagers rebelled during adolescence, Evelyn's defiance came earlier than most.
"Grandfather, I have no interest in business management. Corporate affairs will never appeal to me." Evelyn gazed pleadingly at Leonard. "We already have Dominic handling everything!"
Though Leonard typically indulged his granddaughter, he remained firm on this matter. "That's not negotiable."
"But why?" Evelyn pressed.
"Attend your business management classes diligently. Consult Dominic if you encounter difficulties."
"No, Grandfather! My heart isn't in it."
"Then enlighten me - what does capture your interest?"
Evelyn fell silent, unable to articulate her desires. Yet the conviction remained. "Regardless, business management isn't for me. When I discover my true calling, I'll pursue it wholeheartedly."
Her determination softened Leonard slightly. "Very well. Until you find your passion, continue with the EMBA program."
Though reluctant, Evelyn complied with her grandfather's wishes and began the business management curriculum.
Later that year, Elliot and Julian became seniors. Family obligations meant they bypassed standard college entrance exams, with direct university admission already arranged.
While classmates stressed over SAT preparations, the brothers relaxed at home with video games.
One afternoon, Evelyn burst in with sudden inspiration. "Elliot! Julian! What if I studied fashion design?"
The brothers exchanged puzzled glances. "Design? You're serious?"
Evelyn eagerly produced her tablet, displaying images from the latest Milan Fashion Week. "Look at these groundbreaking designs - so innovative and daring!"
"This particular designer has shown at Milan for consecutive years. Industry insiders call her the design queen - imagine that level of recognition!"
"If my creations could grace Milan's runways someday, wouldn't that be incredible?"
Elliot interrupted gently. "Evie, this isn't a casual decision. Have you discussed this with Grandfather?"
"Design requires extensive artistic training. Starting now would put you at a disadvantage against seasoned professionals."
"The gap between amateur and professional is significant. If you're serious, consult Grandfather and Dominic first."
