Chapter 353

Evelyn's expression told Harrison everything he needed to know without words.

With decisive movements, Harrison pressed the intercom button. "Send Ms. Chamberlain from sales to my office immediately."

"Right away, Mr. Whitmore."

"And have security standing by."

"Understood, sir."

Evelyn remained silent on the sofa, her fingers tightening around her purse strap.

Within minutes, Diana burst through the door, her heels clicking sharply against the marble floor. "You requested to see me, Mr. Whitmore?"

Her cheerful greeting died when she spotted Evelyn. A flicker of panic crossed her features before she schooled them into perfect neutrality.

Harrison didn't miss the microexpression.

His mother Beatrice had warned him about Diana's deceptive nature beneath that angelic facade.

That's precisely why she'd been transferred from the executive suite to sales management.

Harrison had dismissed it as maternal bias before. Now he saw the truth.

"Ms. Chamberlain, care to explain yourself?"

Diana blinked innocently. "I'm afraid I don't follow, sir."

Harrison's eyes darkened to stormy gray. Everyone who knew him recognized that dangerous shift.

Diana had worked alongside him for years. She knew exactly what that look meant. Yet she maintained her act, her face a mask of perfect confusion.

To an outsider, she might have appeared genuinely clueless.

"Collect your severance from HR. You're terminated effective immediately."

Diana's composure cracked. "On what grounds? This is outrageous!"

Harrison didn't entertain her protests. "Security will escort you out."

"Did she poison you against me?" Diana shrieked, pointing at Evelyn. "You're taking her word over mine?"

Evelyn felt tension leave her shoulders. There truly was nothing between Diana and Harrison. She'd misjudged him completely.

Harrison's voice turned arctic. "Mind your professionalism, Ms. Chamberlain. Horizon Technologies has no place for rule-breakers."

His brutal dismissal shattered Diana's composure. Tears spilled down her cheeks. The sudden reversal left her reeling.

A security team knocked and entered. "Sir?"

Harrison gestured to the private lounge. "Remove everything in there. Dispose of it."

Diana gaped at Harrison's merciless order. Humiliation burned through her. She lowered her gaze, knowing she'd lost.

The truth was, Harrison had never given her a chance to begin with. For years, he'd remained devoted to one woman alone.

No matter who tried to enter his orbit, he'd rebuffed them without hesitation.

Diana turned on her heel and fled. She resigned that same hour, vanishing from Horizon Technologies forever.

As security cleared the lounge, Evelyn's posture relaxed visibly.

Harrison crossed to her, bending until their faces were level. "Did you bake this cake for me, Evelyn?" His voice softened, a stark contrast to his earlier tone.
