Rosalind's face twisted with rage as she spat out the venomous words. "Just you wait. That bitch will regret crossing me today."
Nathan's brows furrowed as he roughly grabbed her wrist. "What the hell did you do?"
Before she could respond, Evelyn's terrified scream pierced through the stable. "Ah!"
Evelyn had been attempting to feed Snowy when the normally docile stallion suddenly became agitated and charged straight at her.
The unexpected attack froze Evelyn in place.
As the massive horse barreled toward her, Harrison moved with lightning reflexes, throwing himself between them.
He tackled Evelyn to the ground, shielding her body with his own. "Get down!"
But Snowy wasn't finished. The enraged animal fought against his restraints, muscles straining to break free.
Evelyn's instincts kicked in.
With years of equestrian experience, she immediately sensed something was terribly wrong. "Harrison, this isn't normal behavior."
Harrison tightened his grip around her. "Snowy's never acted like this before. He's the gentlest horse in the stable."
Nathan burst into the stable just then, his eyes scanning for Evelyn. "Are you hurt?"
At the sight of Rosalind behind Nathan, Snowy went berserk, rearing up dangerously. Harrison pulled Evelyn back. "Move!"
With a final powerful jerk, Snowy broke free and charged straight at Rosalind.
Rosalind shrieked and turned to flee. "Get away from me!"
But the furious stallion pursued her relentlessly. In her panic, Rosalind tripped and fell face-first into the dirt. Snowy reared up and brought his hooves down hard on her back.
A blood-curdling scream echoed through the stable.
Rosalind writhed in agony as Snowy trampled her twice more before the stable hands could intervene.
Harrison's commanding voice cut through the chaos. "Snowy! Stand down!"
But the horse had gone completely wild, nostrils flaring as he continued his rampage.
Fortunately, the staff managed to drag the unconscious Rosalind to safety just in time.
Evelyn exchanged a knowing glance with Harrison, who immediately barked orders. "Call an ambulance. Now!"
Seizing the moment, Evelyn cautiously approached the still-agitated stallion.
Miraculously, Snowy calmed at her approach, his violent energy dissipating as she drew near.
Yet Evelyn couldn't shake the feeling this was no accident.
Nathan's expression darkened as he ignored his injured cousin, focusing solely on Evelyn. "Are you alright?"
Evelyn arched an eyebrow. "Shouldn't you be more concerned about your cousin, Mr. Sterling?"
His response came cold and clipped. "She earned every hoofprint."
The implication wasn't lost on Evelyn. "So you knew about this?"
Nathan's silence spoke volumes.
When the ambulance arrived, Evelyn pulled Harrison aside. "This was deliberate."
Harrison squeezed her hand reassuringly. "I'll handle it."
At the hospital, Rosalind regained consciousness screaming accusations. "That witch Evelyn did this! She set that demon horse on me!"
Though Olivia didn't know the full story, Rosalind's hysterical claims ignited her fury.
