Chapter 311
Olivia's face paled instantly. "What did you just say?"
Isabella's lips curled into a vicious smirk at her reaction.
The moment she'd been anticipating had finally arrived.
"Don't believe me? It's the truth. Evelyn might as well be dead in Dunhill by now. The news will reach here soon enough."
Olivia's entire body trembled with rage. She snatched up a nearby broom and swung it wildly at Isabella.
"You venomous snake! Homewrecking trash! How dare you spread such lies? I'll beat the life out of you!"
Isabella dodged easily, her laughter ringing through the boutique. "Go ahead! Scream all you want!"
"Your curses won't bring Evelyn back. They might not even find her body intact."
"Better start planning her funeral. Maybe if you pray hard enough, she'll haunt you from the afterlife."
Olivia's eyes burned crimson. Without warning, she lunged forward and delivered a stinging slap across Isabella's cheek.
But Isabella barely flinched, her laughter growing louder. Her bodyguards immediately restrained Olivia.
They pinned her arms behind her back as she struggled uselessly, finally shoving her toward the store entrance.
Isabella's mocking laughter followed. She adjusted her designer dress with one hand, the other resting on her hip.
"Pathetic. Evelyn was never a match for me. What a shame I couldn't watch the life drain from her eyes myself!"
With that final barb, she turned on her heel and strutted away, leaving Olivia shell-shocked.
Olivia stood frozen, the world spinning around her.
When reality crashed back, she fumbled for her phone with shaking hands and dialed Evelyn's number.
No answer. She tried again. And again. Each unanswered call felt like another knife to her heart.
Tears streamed down her face as she collapsed against the wall.
"Evelyn, please pick up!"
After the tenth attempt, Olivia hurled her phone across the room and sank to the floor, sobbing uncontrollably.
Meanwhile, Evelyn was concluding an important board meeting at Kingsley Industries. Her phone remained with her assistant.
"Ms. Carter," the assistant said urgently, handing over the device. "You've missed fifteen calls from Ms. Sinclair."
Evelyn's brow furrowed at the notification screen. She immediately returned the call.
Olivia remained curled in a ball, deaf to the world around her.
The persistent ringing finally pierced her grief. Seeing Evelyn's name flash across the screen, she gasped.
"Evelyn! You're alive!" Her voice cracked with relief.
Evelyn's tone sharpened instantly. "Olivia? What's wrong?"
Olivia burst into fresh tears - this time of joy. "You're okay! Thank God you're okay!"
Wiping her face, Olivia's relief turned to fury. "That wretched Isabella told me you were dead! If I see her again, I'll claw her eyes out!"
Understanding dawned on Evelyn. "Isabella spoke to you?"
