Chapter 57

"Erase it immediately." Nathan's expression darkened.

"You don't understand the full story. Things happened after you left."

Gregory scoffed. "What's there to understand? She's exactly that type of woman."

"If you hadn't dragged me away that day, I would've exposed those two cheating scumbags myself! They should be ashamed of their disgusting affair!"

Remembering Nathan's devastated expression recently, Gregory burned with righteous anger for his friend.

The more he spoke, the more furious he became. "First she humiliated me at the racetrack, then threatened me. The world needs to know what kind of—"

"Really? I'm waiting to see how you'll expose me." Evelyn's icy voice cut through the air, making Gregory jump.

"Damn it, why do you keep appearing everywhere?" Gregory shuddered, goosebumps rising on his skin. His luck was terrible—always getting caught badmouthing people.

Evelyn stood with arms crossed behind him.

She turned to Natalie beside her. "Perfect. Seems we've found our culprit without even searching."

Olivia pointed an accusing finger at Gregory. "So you're the one bullying my Evelyn! You'll pay for this!"

Evelyn restrained her, pulled out her phone, and typed rapidly.

She showed Gregory the screen. "Just sent your wife photos of your little escapades with these ladies."

Gregory immediately pushed away the women clinging to him. "Evelyn! You snitched on me?"

"I hear your wife earns triple your salary, and you have zero say at home."

"Now that she's seen evidence of your infidelity, I wonder if she'll file for divorce."

Gregory's jaw dropped. "That's—that's nonsense! My wife would never believe you!"

Despite his bravado, he frantically checked his phone. Seconds later, his wife called.

He stepped aside, answering meekly. "Hello, darling."

His wife's enraged screams blasted through the speaker, forcing Gregory to lower the volume.

"You have twenty minutes to get home. Or face the consequences!"

"Yes, yes! Coming right now! Don't be angry, sweetheart!"

Hanging up, Gregory stormed toward Evelyn. "What the hell is wrong with you?"

"You're signing my death warrant! This is worse than your stupid reputation!"

His words ignited Evelyn's fury. Her voice turned deadly calm. "So only your reputation matters while mine—"

Evelyn's sharp gaze swept over Gregory's companions. "What makes you people so superior?"

She couldn't believe her reputation had been destroyed by baseless rumors while Gregory acted like his image was priceless.

As Nathan moved to explain, he met Evelyn's blazing eyes and froze.

Under her accusatory stare, he remembered the online hate she'd endured—all because of him. Guilt crushed him.

Meanwhile, Evelyn mocked herself for ever considering lowering herself to please these people.

What utter foolishness.

During her marriage to Nathan, they'd always looked down on her. At every gathering, they'd treated her like dirt beneath their designer shoes.

Now divorced, they still acted superior, as if she'd taken advantage of him.

Her blood boiled. Just then, a janitor passed by carrying a bucket of vomit with yellow oil floating on top.

Without hesitation, Evelyn grabbed the bucket and dumped its contents on Gregory.

"Ahhh!" The putrid stench made Gregory scream. He looked to his friends for help, but they all backed away.

Nathan turned his head, grimacing. "Go clean yourself. Don't come near me."

Evelyn accepted tissues from Olivia, wiping her hands. "Why didn't you cash my check? Did you trash it? I'll write another one tomorrow."

With that, she linked arms with Natalie and Olivia, heading toward the stage.

Gregory shoved Nathan. "Dude, control your woman! She's completely lost it!"

Nathan shot him a frigid glare. "Who gives me that right? We're divorced."
