Chapter 310
Evelyn gave a firm nod. Maxwell produced a sleek pocket knife and sliced open the mysterious package. Photos spilled across the floor like fallen leaves.
He scrambled to collect them, handing the stack to Evelyn. "Ms. Carter, you need to see this!"
The corner of Evelyn's lips curled upward as she examined the images.
"Now the puzzle pieces fit."
She never imagined the puppet master pulling strings would be someone from her past. "Since Isabella's involved, this game just got more entertaining."
A chilling smile played on Evelyn's lips. "Last time, she got off easy with just a few months behind bars. This time, I'll teach her some people are better left untouched."
"Shall I handle this discreetly for you?" Maxwell offered.
Evelyn waved him off. "No need. I'll personally deal with this viper."
Meanwhile, Isabella remained blissfully unaware her scheme had unraveled. She pranced through Dunhill's luxury district, convinced Evelyn was already six feet under.
Nathan's black card burned a hole in her designer purse as she indulged in a shopping spree. Bodyguards struggled under the weight of her purchases before she finally called it quits.
Her manicured finger pointed at Evelyn's boutique. "I want this place secured immediately!" she announced to her entourage. "We're transforming it into a high-end beauty emporium - imported cosmetics, luxury skincare, the works."
"Add some aestheticians for treatments too," she continued, eyes gleaming. "These vapid socialites will empty their trust funds here."
Unbeknownst to her, Olivia observed from the shadows.
Without hesitation, Olivia grabbed a nearby water basin and hurled its contents at Isabella.
A piercing shriek echoed through the boutique.
Isabella stood frozen, designer outfit ruined, mascara running down her cheeks.
Olivia smirked. "Having delusions of grandeur, are we? Need help coming back to reality?"
Isabella wiped her face with trembling hands, her perfect facade crumbling. "You bitch!" she screeched. "Do you know who I am? I'll ruin you!"
She lunged like a feral cat.
Olivia didn't flinch, her gaze icy.
At the last second, she caught Isabella's wrist, swept her legs, and sent her crashing to the floor.
The impact shook the display cases.
Isabella writhed like an overturned beetle, screeching obscenities.
Olivia dusted her hands. "All that arrogance for such pathetic skills. Didn't do your research on me, did you?"
Every bone in Isabella's body ached. She hadn't anticipated Evelyn's mousy friend packing such force.
She couldn't even stand without her bodyguards' help.
"Are you statues?" she screamed at them. "Get me up!"
They scrambled to obey, hauling her to her feet.
Leaning heavily on them, she still managed to sneer. "Your precious Evelyn's rotting in a ditch somewhere. Let's see who protects you now!"
