Chapter 291

Harrison moved swiftly. Both Kingsley Industries and Horizon Technologies simultaneously announced the termination of their partnerships with Sterling Enterprises.

For a moment, Sterling Enterprises was completely thrown into chaos.

Vivienne stared at the pandemonium in the company, struggling to comprehend that all this destruction had been caused by one woman - Evelyn Carter.

Her hands trembled as she pulled out her phone to call Adrian, their frequent business contact.

"Mr. Prescott?"

Adrian, unaware of the storm brewing in Dunhill, answered politely, "Ms. Chambers, how's our collaboration progressing?"

Vivienne ignored his question. "Mr. Prescott, I need to ask you something. Is Ms. Carter some kind of special VIP?"

Adrian's tone immediately shifted. "What happened, Ms. Chambers? Explain yourself."

Vivienne bit her lip before confessing, "Kingsley Industries and Horizon Technologies have both severed ties with us."

The silence on the other end was deafening.

When Adrian finally spoke, his voice was laced with barely contained fury. "What the hell did you do? You'd better have a damn good explanation for this."

Vivienne immediately threw Evelyn under the bus. "It's all Evelyn's fault! My assistant accidentally offended her, and she canceled our multi-million dollar partnerships over it!"

Adrian's explosion was instantaneous. "Wait - you're telling me you pissed off Evelyn Carter? Do you have any idea who she is? You absolute fool! You deserve to lose those contracts!"

"But Mr. Prescott-"

Adrian cut her off mercilessly. "Let me make this crystal clear. You could insult anyone else, even me, and it wouldn't matter. But Evelyn? Cross her and you sign your own death warrant."

"Losing those contracts is the least of your problems. If anything happens to Evelyn because of this, I'll personally ensure Sterling Enterprises ceases to exist."

The line went dead.

Vivienne stood frozen, the dial tone echoing in her ears. A cold dread seeped into her bones.

Just how powerful was this Evelyn woman?

Even Adrian Prescott feared crossing her, yet Vivienne had stupidly provoked her.

She wanted to slap herself.

But it was too late for regrets.

The deals were gone. Giselle had been fired. Vivienne herself had been demoted from director to junior employee.

Her entire world had collapsed in a single day.

Meanwhile, Evelyn lounged in her hotel suite, engrossed in a mobile tower defense game she'd recently become obsessed with.

As she completed a level, Harrison approached. "I've assigned Maxwell to handle the Sterling Enterprises fallout."

"The CEO of Summit Corporation - Sterling's main competitor - has already reached out. They're eager to finalize partnership details."

Evelyn nodded without looking up. "Efficient as always, Harrison. Let's move forward with Summit."

"They've arranged a mine tour this afternoon. Will you be joining?"

Evelyn shrugged. "Sure, why not?" Her fingers never stopped moving across the screen as she started another game.
