Chapter 470

At the Sinclair estate, Isabella had already discussed the upcoming diamond auction with Margaret before attending.

Gazing at the dazzling gem Isabella had acquired at great expense, Margaret remained silent for a long moment before finally speaking.

"Your mother did have a profound love for diamonds... but if they truly possess any power, they could either restore her sanity or push her further into madness."

She paused, her expression thoughtful.

"So... Bella, safeguard the diamond for now."

She continued, her voice measured.

"Regarding its use in your mother's treatment, let's observe how her condition progresses first."

Isabella had indeed considered this possibility herself.

She found her grandmother's reasoning sound.

Yet such rare diamonds were exceptionally difficult to obtain.

If she let this opportunity slip, who knew when another might arise?

Besides, financial constraints weren't an issue currently.

Even without immediate use, she proceeded with the purchase.

Hearing her grandmother's words, she simply responded, "Very well."

She hadn't visited Evelyn at the medical facility for several days.

The following morning, she decided to go.

She arrived quite early, yet when she reached the hospital, both Alexander and Oliver were already present.

Richard, however, was noticeably absent.

When she knocked and entered, both men turned toward her.

Isabella offered Alexander a brief nod of acknowledgment before moving directly to check on Evelyn.

Seeing Isabella completely disregard him, Oliver widened his eyes and muttered to Alexander, "She really doesn't acknowledge anyone's presence anymore, does she?"

Alexander settled into his seat and responded with a noncommittal hum.

Then he added, "And?"

Oliver didn't answer.

A short while later, Isabella emerged from the private room.

But she didn't depart immediately.

Instead, she looked at Alexander and inquired, "How has Grandmother been these past two days?"

Alexander poured a glass of water and approached to offer it to her.

Isabella shook her head, indicating she didn't want it.

Alexander didn't insist and set the glass aside before replying, "She's shown some improvement."

"According to the medical team, she might regain consciousness within the next few days."

"Understood," Isabella said.

With that, she prepared to leave.

Just then, Alexander mentioned, "Sophia's away for training."

"She returns tomorrow."

She wasn't particularly interested in Sophia's whereabouts.

But since Oliver was present, his eyes shifting between her and Alexander with unmistakable curiosity, she chose not to engage.

She simply offered a brief "Noted" before turning and walking away without a backward glance.

Oliver watched her departure, only turning away once her figure vanished from view.

He then looked at Alexander and remarked, "I've noticed... since you two began divorce proceedings, your dynamic actually seems more harmonious than before."

Alexander, typing on his laptop, didn't glance up.

He offered an ambiguous response, "Is that so?"

Most couples tore each other apart during divorces.

What was happening between these two was rather unusual.

Oliver didn't voice that thought aloud.

He suddenly remembered something and said, "Regardless, you two have Sophia between you."

"Though she made mistakes in the past, that's all behind us now."

He continued carefully, "Since she's moved on, and if you can also let things go for Sophia's sake, then..."

"There isn't some irreparable hatred between you."

"For Sophia's benefit, perhaps maintaining a civil relationship moving forward isn't such a bad idea..."

Alexander remained silent.

Oliver studied him, uncertain of his thoughts.

But since Alexander didn't respond, Oliver couldn't press further—so he simply fell quiet.
