Chapter 104
The camera angle only captured a tall, broad-shouldered figure entering the room with effortless grace.
His commanding presence alone marked him as someone extraordinary, though his face remained out of frame.
At first, the team at InnovaTech had speculated about Isabella and Nathaniel's relationship.
They only discovered later that Isabella was already married with a nearly grown daughter.
Yet Isabella rarely spoke about her personal life. Her husband remained an enigma to the team.
Given Isabella's striking beauty and her rapidly proven competence—surpassing even Nathaniel's—everyone burned with curiosity.
What kind of man could possibly deserve such a breathtaking, brilliant woman?
Now, Alexander Whitmore had finally appeared—only for Isabella to immediately swivel the camera away.
Dominic and the others were about to tease her when Alexander's deep baritone cut through, "Still working?"
Isabella glanced up. "Mm."
Alexander simply nodded, retrieving clothes before disappearing into the bathroom.
Isabella's attention snapped back to the meeting, though two female colleagues couldn't resist whispering, "Your husband has an incredible voice."
??
Alexander wasn't just handsome—his voice was like velvet, rich and impossibly smooth.
Flustered by their admiration, Isabella merely said, "Thank you..."
By now, the hour had grown late. Though the team remained energized, overworking served no one.
Nathaniel decided to wrap up remaining tasks, deferring the rest for tomorrow.
Still, finalizing everything took considerable time.
When Alexander emerged from the shower, damp hair curling at his nape, the meeting continued.
Noticing Isabella's focus, he remained silent.
Then Sophia burst in. "Mom—!"
Isabella turned toward the door, but Alexander intervened first. "Mom's working."
Sophia immediately quieted, padding over to whisper in Alexander's ear, "Dad, can I sleep with Victoria tonight?"
A nod. "Alright."
Sophia threw her arms around his neck, forgetting to whisper in her excitement. "Thanks, Dad!"
Fortunately, Isabella had just finished.
She ended the call, only to freeze at the sight of Victoria lingering in the doorway.
Her lips pressed into a thin line.
Alexander and Sophia noticed Victoria too.
Without a word, Alexander rose and left with Victoria.
Sophia hesitated, glancing between them and Isabella's tense expression.
"Mom..." she ventured softly.
Isabella busied herself organizing documents. "Did you shower?"
"Yes."
"Sleepy?"
"Mm... very."
"Then go to bed."
Sophia exhaled in relief. "Okay! You should rest too."
"I will. Goodnight."
After a quick hug, Sophia skipped out.
Alone, Isabella gathered her nightclothes, noticing neither Alexander nor Sophia had closed the door.
