Chapter 287

Julian had a business dinner scheduled that evening. He planned to leave immediately after finishing his work discussion with Isabella.

She noticed his lingering gaze and tilted her head questioningly.

Valentine's Day was tomorrow, yet he hadn't mentioned it. With a faint smile, he shook his head. "Nothing important."

Isabella was completely absorbed in her work now. The holiday had slipped her mind entirely.

It wasn't until her assistant reminded her the next morning that realization struck.

As she turned toward her office, a voice called from the entrance.

"Excuse me, which of you is Ms. Sinclair? There's a floral delivery here."

Isabella spun around to see a courier holding an enormous bouquet of red roses. The spectacle immediately drew curious glances from her colleagues.

Though rumors swirled about her and Nathaniel, most company employees knew she was married.

However, Isabella rarely discussed her personal life, leaving many speculating about her marriage's true state.

"Someone sent you roses on Valentine's Day?" a coworker cooed enviously. "That must be from your husband. What a romantic gesture."

"Lucky you," another sighed dramatically.

Isabella knew Alexander would never send flowers. She checked the accompanying card - only her phone number confirmed the delivery was meant for her.

After signing, she carried the lavish bouquet to her office, examining the elegant card. The sender remained anonymous, with only "Happy Valentine's Day" handwritten inside.

Nathaniel entered moments later, eyebrows lifting at the floral display. "Secret admirer?"

"No idea," Isabella admitted, "but the handwriting seems familiar."

He chuckled. "Seems someone's harboring feelings for you. Any guesses?"

"None whatsoever."

Nathaniel rubbed his chin thoughtfully. They'd spent considerable time together recently, yet he'd noticed no particular attention toward her.

With a wry smile, he ventured, "Not Alexander, surely?"

"Definitely not," Isabella replied flatly.

After years of marriage without a single Valentine's celebration, why would he start now as they neared divorce? Besides, she'd recognize his handwriting anywhere.

"Whoever it was," Nathaniel observed, "they chose premium roses and took time for a handwritten note. Quite thoughtful."

Perhaps, but Isabella had no interest in pursuing the mystery. Without contact details, she wouldn't waste energy investigating.

"We should focus on work."

Her schedule included a crucial meeting at InnovaTech that afternoon - an appointment made days prior.

After organizing the necessary documents, she departed with her team right on schedule.
