Chapter 228

Alexander didn't leave the hospital that night.

By morning, Catherine and Victoria Whitmore, along with other relatives, returned to visit Eleanor.

When they learned Alexander had stayed all night, they insisted he go home to rest.

Alexander told Eleanor, "I'll come back tonight."

Eleanor remained silent.

After leaving the hospital, Alexander made a phone call.

Within an hour, the Kensingtons and their allies received notice of their removal from the project team.

They immediately contacted Victoria Kensington.

Victoria said, "It was Madam Whitmore's decision. She had a difficult night."

The Kensingtons hadn't anticipated this development.

Lawrence asked, "Does this mean Madam Whitmore demanded you break up with Alexander and prevent his divorce from Isabella?"

Victoria pressed her lips together tightly.

After brief discussion, she ended the call.

A knock interrupted her thoughts. "Ms. Kensington, the meeting is starting."

"Understood."

Victoria set down her phone and headed toward the conference room. On her way, she spotted Isabella Sinclair discussing work with Maxwell Sterling.

She knew the collaboration between YodaVision and InnovaTech continued, requiring periodic system maintenance visits.

But she hadn't expected to encounter Isabella at InnovaTech today.

Isabella sensed someone watching her. Turning, she met Victoria's gaze briefly before looking away without hesitation.

Around 10:00 am, Isabella visited the restroom.

Emerging, she found Alexander waiting by the wall.

Without pausing, she moved to walk past when Alexander spoke. "Grandmother fell last night. She fractured her femur and needs bone cement."

Isabella froze, turning to face him.

Alexander provided the hospital name and room number. "She'd like to see you."

Isabella remained silent.

At that moment, Victoria exited the restroom.

Seeing Alexander, Victoria's surprise was evident. She hadn't expected him here - talking to Isabella.

She stopped, lips pressed together.

Isabella ignored them both, returning to the restroom.

When she emerged again, both had disappeared.

Isabella resumed work.

By 11:00 am, maintenance complete, Isabella and her YodaVision team departed.

At lunch, Isabella told Margaret about Eleanor's fall.

Margaret gasped. "We'll visit tonight."

Regardless of Isabella's situation with Alexander, Eleanor had helped the Sinclairs during their darkest days.

Without Eleanor's assistance, the Sinclairs wouldn't be where they were today.

Margaret would never forget that kindness.

Isabella nodded. "Alright."

That afternoon, Isabella left work early. After dinner at home, she accompanied Margaret to the orthopedic hospital.

"Mommy!"

Sophia spotted them immediately, running to hug Isabella's legs excitedly.
