Chapter 58
Kathie watchedhim doting on the kids and thought, 'He's definitely going to be a great dad someday.'
She then said. "Alright, didn't your teacher give you homework? Go back to your rooms and finish it. Mommy's going to make dinner."
Eileen pouted. "But I still want to play with Seven."
Jonathan cupped her little face. "Be good. I'll play with you later.Right now, I need to help your mommy with dinner."
Zachary grinned. "Seven is just like Daddy. He's so good to Mommy."
Kathie was speechless. What on earth made him think Jonathan was being nice to her?
"I want Seven to be my daddy too. You both should get married soon,"Zachary added.
Kyle nodded in agreement. "I'm on board."
Kathie didn't want her three little matchmakers to keep pushing this, so she quickly waved them off. "Go back to your rooms now."
The three kids grabbed their backpacks and headed to their rooms. Eileen made a gesture to Jonathan. "Seven, wait for me. I'll come play with you soon."
Kathie couldn't understand what kind of magic he had cast on her daughter. Eileen liked him so much.
Jonathan followed her into the kitchen, and Kathie said bluntly, "You don't ·know how to do anything. What are you doing in the kitchen?"
Jonathan washonest. "I can keep you company."
Kathie was speechless, thinking, 'He's so shameless!
Seeing her busy with the vegetables and ignoring him,Jonathan wheeled himself closer. "I've already told Henry and Patricia not to come. You don't need to go out tomorrow."
Kathie shook her head. "You can let them come. It makes things easier for me."
Jonathan frowned. "Are you throwing a tantrum?"
Kathie continued handling vegetables. "You're overthinking it. I'm starting work tomorrow, and I plan to take thekids back to the Cavendish Mansion. My grandma misses them."
Jonathan was slightly taken aback. He didn't expect her to make such changes in just one day.
"What about me? Did you consider me in your plans?" he asked.
Kathie looked at him seriously, "Seven, you said you had amnesia, and I was willing to take you in. But now you know who you are, and your girlfriend has found you. You can go back to your place."
Jonathan was furious. "You promised to cure me."
"I can still treat you regularly. That doesn't change."
"In the end, you just want to abandon me. You're a bad woman."
That made Kathie angry. "You call me a bad woman, but you're a liar.Your friends invade my personal space every day, and your enemies could show up here anytime, Shoudn't I think about myself and the kids?"
.Jonathan had no response. He couldn't guarantee that Henry and the others wouldn't come back, nor could he ensure there wouldn't be any danger. "Then I'll go with you1." Jonathan said.
Kathie was astonished. "You, the president of the Berkeley Group, want to act like a child?"
How could this silly woman not understand his feelings?
"Say what you want. Until I can move freely, you're responsible for me."
"I find you quite shameless."
Jonathan smirked, "What can you do about it?"
Kathie grabbed some flour from the table and threw it at him. "I don't want to see your face."
Jonathan was covered in flour, even his hair. He stared at Kathie in disbelief. "You actually dared to do this to me!"
Kathie had many ways to deal with him, but she couldn't hold back anymore. This was the most direct.
"If you say one more word, I'll dump all the flour on your face," she said.
Jonathan took a deep breath, his eyes fixed on her. "Kathie, you'll regret this." Then he raised his voice, "Kids, help!"
Kathie quickly covered his mouth. "You're really shameless, calling the kids for help again."
Last time, Jonathan had framed her in front of the kids, and now he was doing it again.
The house wasn't big, and with Jonathan's deep voice, the kids' sharp ears picked it up, and they came running.
Kathie facepalmed and threatened him, "If you dare say anything, you'll
get the most bitter medicine tonight."
Jonathan stifled a laugh. It felt like having a tigress by his side. He had to use the kids to handle her.
"What's going on?" Eileen's voice came before she did.
Kyle was the fastest, reaching the kitchen first and seeing Kathie cleaning flour off Seven's face. "Mommy, what happened?"
Zachary followed, equally puzzled by the scene. "Seven, why is your face covered in flour? Were you playing a game?"
Jonathan was speechless.
Kyle added. "Zachary, I think Seven looks like a scary ghost."
Jonathan's mouth twitched.
Eileen carefully approached and helped wipe his face. "How did you get flour on your face?"
Jonathan glanced at Kathie, who gave him a warning look. "Don't worry.I was trying to help and accidentally knocked over the flour. I couldn't see,so I called for you."
Eileen stood on tiptoe, noticing the flour was on Kathie's side, and asked,"Seven, the flour is on Mommy's side. How did you knock it over from your wheelchair?"
Kathie felt awkward. Her usually careless little one was suddenly sharp. She glared at Jonathan, signaling him to stay quiet.
Jonathan smiled. "It was here before. Your mommy moved it to keep me .from making a mess. She's very thoughtful."
Kathie sighed in relief. At least he was sensible. If he had said anything else, she would have given him the most bitter medicine tonight.
Eileen was half-convinced. "Alright, as long as everything's fine. Mommy, help Seven take a bath. He's got flour all over his head."
Kyle agreed. "We had snacks at school, so we're not hungry. Mommy, help Seven first."
Zachary nodded, and Kathie had no choice but to put down what she was doing. "Okay. Ill do that. You guys go back to your rooms and dIon't come out unless it's important."
Kathie pushed the wheelchair out, and the three kids huddled together, whispering.
Zachary was the first to ask, "Did you notice Seven seemed scared of Mommy? Do you think she's threatening him?"
Kyle nodded. "I noticed. Mommy kept staring at him while he talked."
Eileen looked worried. "I feel bad for Seven. Do you think mommy is bullying him behind our backs?"
Zachary thought for a moment. "Maybe. Let's finish our homework quickly and check on them later."
Kyle agreed, "Alright, let's hurry back to our rooms."
Eileen followed Kyle and Zachary back to their rooms.
Kathie pushed Jonathan into the bathroom. "If you use that trick again.I'll add the most bitter and smelly medicine to your treatment."
Jonathan chuckled. "You really go all out to deal with me."
"You forced me. I'm seriously doubting if you're really Jonathan." Kathie had heard he was cold and unapproachable, but the man in front of her was just a nuisance.
